Today we’d like to introduce you to Sterling Day.
Hi Sterling, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
“My start in public relations and marketing goes back to high school, when I worked on sports card conventions and cooking demonstrations at Bobby Valentine’s Sports Gallery Café, where Texas Rangers players often made appearances. That early exposure sparked my love for events, storytelling, and building connections. I went on to study fashion merchandising in college and intern at the Dallas Apparel Mart, providing custom clothing for athletes. From there, I launched my own ventures—producing themed events and working in the early 2000s with Pat Summerall Productions on Champions of the Industry, which aired on Fox News. Later, I explored both business and podcasting in the healing arts. My background is rather unconventional compared to most in PR, but the common thread has always been creativity, connection, and communication. No matter the industry, I’ve been driven to bring people together, amplify their stories, and help them thrive—and that passion has shaped my work from the very beginning.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Like most entrepreneurs, it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Some of my biggest challenges have come from learning how to stay nimble and in sync with an ever-changing economy — especially in an industry as dynamic as PR and marketing. Trends shift, client needs evolve, and the way people consume information changes almost daily. That constant movement requires adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning.
Being in business for yourself is always a leap of faith. There are seasons when everything flows and opportunities align perfectly — and then there are times when you have to pause, recalibrate, and trust the process. I’ve had to learn how to balance creativity with structure, how to grow without losing the personal touch that makes a boutique agency special, and how to protect my energy while still showing up fully for my clients.
But I’ll say this — every challenge has sharpened me. Each pivot has taught me something about leadership, patience, and faith. The road may not have been smooth, but it’s been deeply rewarding. And I’m grateful for every lesson along the way because it’s shaped not only how I do business, but who I am as a person.”
We’ve been impressed with House or Sterling PR, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
“House of Sterling PR is a boutique public relations and marketing agency that specializes in creating customized campaigns and experiences for clients who want to shape, gain, and grow their exposure. Because we’re a small, boutique firm, we’re able to take the time to really understand our clients, their vision, and their goals. At the core of what I do is connection, communication, and alignment with that vision. What I’m most proud of is being able to take those insights, craft a thoughtful strategy, and execute in a way that delivers meaningful results—results that both my clients and I can be proud of.”
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
“I’d say overall I’ve been extremely blessed — and I don’t really see it as luck in the traditional sense. For me, it’s been about being very intentional and genuine with people. Every major step in my career has come from authentic connections — the kind that are built on trust, shared vision, and mutual respect.
Over the years, I’ve learned that when you lead with sincerity and purpose, the right doors open. Sometimes it’s timing, sometimes it’s alignment — but it always seems to happen through the people you meet along the way. Not everyone is going to see your vision or understand your journey, and that’s perfectly okay. The key is to keep pressing forward, to stay grounded in your purpose, and to celebrate the opportunities that truly resonate.
I’ve been fortunate to have incredible people come into my life — collaborators, mentors, clients — who’ve inspired me to think bigger and do better. When you surround yourself with great people and a clear vision, that’s when the real magic happens.”
