Inspiring Conversations with Tenisha Harris of LoveTAB Gourmet Apples

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tenisha Harris

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my business back in 2016, as it was only apart of my healing process, after losing my son a few years prior to neuroblastoma cancer at the age of 2 years old. What started off as just a hobby for me, later became my obsession and pride and joy. Three years ago, we decided to rebrand the business and change its name to LoveTAB, Naming the business after my late son, Tariq Anthony Butler. We also learned how to perfect our homemade caramel, in which we take pride in our delicious and creamy flavored non sticky caramel. Since then, we’ve participated in numerous markets and events. We provide whole caramel or candy apples, apple slices, turtle candy and pralines.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey had its challenges. Being that I work alone in the kitchen making 50 to 75 apples right after working my 9-5, definitely made it challenging. There were days that I wanted to give up, but I knew that giving up was not an option. Working outside markets had its moments when it would either be freezing cold or scorching hot. That was a huge challenge when I first started. The heat would destroy our products, so plenty had to be discarded, which discouraged me. After figuring out what worked for my business, things have been great every since.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about LoveTAB Gourmet Apples ?
We take pride in our homemade caramel. We specialize in flavored caramel as well (pumpkin spice, amaretto, pralines and cream, cookie butter and etc), flavored hard candy in any color and flavor (mango, pineapple, watermelon, grape, etc). We also specialize in turtle candy and pralines

What makes you happy?
Setting and achieving my personal and business goals puts me in my happy place. I wear so many different hats, so being able to cross off my daily, weekly and monthly goals makes me feel super happy and accomplished. Outside of business, spending quality time with my three daughters brings me all the joy and happiness in the world.
