Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria.
Hi Valeria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I never imagined I would become an entrepreneur. My journey actually started in the classroom, where I spent over a decade as a bilingual educator, pouring my creativity into transforming learning spaces into immersive experiences—a campsite, a carnival, an airport. I always obsessed over the smallest details to make learning come alive.
But life has a way of shifting our course. After unexpectedly losing both of my parents, grief took over, and I found myself searching for an outlet. Sleepless nights became my norm, and in an effort to channel that restless energy, I turned to creativity once again—this time, for my best friend’s wedding. I started experimenting with balloons and event styling. What I didn’t realize at the time was how healing creativity would become for me.
The Dallas Bachelorette was never just about balloons. It was born during a season of profound loss, when I was desperately searching for glimpses of joy. A small spark gradually grew into a company dedicated to celebrating life’s most meaningful moments.
Every event I design holds a special place in my heart—a rainbow baby’s arrival, a child’s birthday as she bravely fights for her life, a bride stepping into her next chapter, a business opening its doors for the first time. These are more than just events; they are reminders that even in life’s hardest seasons, love and joy persist.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. I had no idea what I was getting into when I first started. With two degrees in education, I was suddenly thrown into a world of marketing, bookkeeping, social media management, client communication, and event logistics—all on my own. There was no guidebook, and every day felt like a crash course in entrepreneurship.
One of the biggest challenges was learning to put myself out there. I had to create a LinkedIn, step into networking spaces that felt intimidating, and push past the imposter syndrome whispering, “Who do you think you are, trying to start a business?” It wasn’t easy, but little by little, I gained confidence.
Looking back, I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. I’ve learned to delegate tasks that aren’t my strength, lean into my creativity, and trust the process. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of my friends, family, and my husband—who, with his MBA, has been my unofficial business consultant more times than I can count!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I’m originally from Lubbock, Texas, so I really appreciate how much there is to do in Dallas! Whether it’s an art festival, a concert, a fun workout class, or trying out a new restaurant, there’s always something lively happening! I also love that people here have great taste and know how to throw an amazing party—that definitely makes the city feel vibrant and full of life!
On the flip side, I think most of us would agree that traffic is definitely my least favorite part of the city. It can be a real challenge at times!
