Hi Vinh, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
A Vietnamese Wedding photographer that done 138 weddings last year.
Thirteen years ago, it all began when I, a Vietnamese photographer, bought my first camera as a gift for my cousin’s graduation. Little did I know that this seemingly simple act would lead to the start of my amazing journey. As I started exploring photography, I quickly realized that camera gear could be quite expensive, and this sparked a brilliant idea.
I came up with a unique solution: Why not offer my photography services to people and use the earnings to fund my camera equipment purchases? With this newfound motivation, my first customer happened to be a friend, and capturing their happiness and love on that special occasion ignited a passionate love for wedding photography within me.
Even as a child, aviation was my dream job. I also pursued my passion for education and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. After completing my studies, I followed my dream and secured a position at an aviation company. Working in aviation has been a rewarding experience that has allowed me to combine my technical skills with my love for travel and photography.
Amidst my aviation career, I continued to nurture my photography skills. As a Vietnamese photographer, I developed a team around my passion for wedding photography, which has now grown to include 18 talented individuals comprising photographers, videographers, and editors. Our teamwork, dedication, and shared love for capturing special moments have contributed to the success of my business.
As my skills and reputation grew, so did the recognition. I earned the prestigious title of being ranked the top photographer in the DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth) area by the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). To add to this feat, I won numerous awards from multiple wedding photography associations for my exceptional work and creativity.
My dedication to my craft and genuine understanding of the Vietnamese culture has led to a remarkable achievement: 80% of the weddings I captured last year were Vietnamese weddings. My ability to communicate effectively and appreciate the essence of their traditions made me the go-to photographer for these occasions. However, I didn’t stop there, and I’ve continued to excel in photographing various American weddings as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road. At the beginning, there were struggles as there were no customers knowing me, and being a Vietnamese wedding photographer posed its challenges. Additionally, there was stiff competition in the industry. However, I stood out with my passion and wholehearted dedication to my work. As a result, I have managed to make customers happy, and they have been kind enough to refer my services to others.
