Inspiring Conversations with Yessica Delgado of Planta-la

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yessica Delgado

Hi Yessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Since I was born I’ve felt a passion for Mother Nature. It all started when I preferred that I get gifted plants instead of roses that would soon die. That dream continued through my life until 3 years ago when we got the horrible heat wave in Dallas and all the outdoor plants started to die. In my desperation of seeing so many plants die in the nearby forest I decided to bring them back home and give them water. And sometimes they would stay in only water and all of a sudden my house had become a sanctuary for hydroponic plants. Sitting down with my partner and husband, Mauricio we started having tons of ideas about starting a studio of hydroponic plants and a way to help the environment. We offer our plants for weddings, events, lobbies, hotels and hospitals since it’s now been confirmed that plants help produce happiness.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has not been a smooth road. Lack of resources and inability for people to understand and value the beauty of nature. I’ve had to take on a side job to support all my plants.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Planta-la was founded in 2023 by Yessica Delgado to provide an immersive showroom to experience the intricate beauty of hydroponic plants. Hydroponic plants are plants that are cultivated to live in water, without soil, exposing their intricate network of roots to the world.

The resulting pieces of unique, living works of art are beautiful and suitable for any environment such as weddings, corporate offices and personal homes. Headquartered in the Design District in Dallas, Planta-la offers hydroponic plant design, delivery and maintenance services throughout the Dallas Fort Worth area.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
When I used to go swimming with my 5 cousins and then we would go eat peaches
