We recently had the chance to connect with Jacqueline Johnson and have shared our conversation below.
Jacqueline, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Because here’s the truth: the qualities that make someone valuable on a team go beyond a résumé. It’s about resilience, adaptability, creativity, and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities. That’s the energy I carry into everything I do. It’s not just about completing tasks it’s about elevating the work, the people, and the vision.
When you’ve built businesses, managed teams, created products, and still found ways to inspire others along the journey, you don’t just bring skills you bring proof that excellence, consistency, and heart can coexist in the workplace.
So yes, I’d hire me because I know the power of showing up with intention, discipline, and a glow that can’t be dimmed.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jacqueline Johnson, but most people know me as Jacquie ooh a powerhouse entrepreneur, speaker, and wellness advocate with a mission to help women think well, live well, and glow well. Through my lifestyle brand, Jacquie ooh, I’ve created a space where beauty meets purpose, offering everything from my award-winning talk show Motivational Monday with Jacquie ooh to my all-natural skincare line, books, and signature events like Sip & Glow.
What sets me apart isn’t just the products or programs it’s the story and heart behind them. I was a teen mom who faced challenges like loss, domestic violence, and having to start over. But I chose to transform those experiences into fuel to empower other women. My work is a reflection of resilience, and it’s a reminder that wellness isn’t just about how you look it’s a daily journey of mind, body, and spirit.
Right now, I’m expanding my impact with new books, self-care experiences, and a nonprofit called Mom’n It, designed to support mothers at every stage of motherhood. Whether it’s through skincare, storytelling, or soul care, Jacquie ooh is more than a brand it’s a movement reminding women everywhere that their glow comes from within.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I could never do anything right and that I would never measure up. I chased approval so hard that I made countless mistakes saying yes when I should have said no, bending myself into shapes I didn’t recognize all in the hope of being liked.
But life has a way of showing you who you really are. Every setback, every loss, every triumph taught me that those beliefs were lies. I’ve learned that my value isn’t measured by others’ approval but by how I show up for myself. What once felt like weakness became strength, what once felt like failure became wisdom, and what once felt like “not enough” became more than enough.
Today, I stand in my own truth, fully aware that resilience, faith, and discipline will always carry me further than doubt or the need to be liked ever could.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me resilience when I thought I had none, patience when every step felt heavy, and faith when the path ahead seemed impossible.
Success can celebrate achievement, but suffering demands growth it forces you to look inward, confront your fears, and discover the strength you didn’t know you had. Through hardship, I learned to value the journey over the outcome, to embrace vulnerability as power, and to show up fully, even when the world tried to tell me I couldn’t.
Those lessons shaped not just who I am, but how I lead, create, and inspire others today.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Is the public version of me the real me? Absolutely, yes! I don’t believe in wearing masks or performing to meet expectations. What people see whether it’s through my brand, my talk show, or my events is an authentic reflection of who I am: resilient, driven, and passionate about helping women think well, live well, and glow well.
Of course, there are private moments of reflection and growth that only I see, but the energy, the heart, and the values I share publicly? That’s all real.
What you see is who I am, and I show up every day with intention, purpose, and a commitment to living and leading authentically.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I hope people remember me as someone who inspired others to rise, to shine, and to show up fully for themselves. I hope they tell a story of resilience how I faced challenges head-on, transformed pain into purpose, and created spaces that empowered women to think well, live well, and glow well.
More than the awards, the products, or the accolades, I want to be remembered for the impact I had on hearts and lives the encouragement, the opportunities, and the example that living authentically and with intention can change everything.
