We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jeffery Powell . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Jeffery , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Getting out to play a round of golf brings me joy even if I shoot a great score or I play the worst round ever. It is just a four hour getaway where I try my best not to think about the next client, the next event, did I do this or did I take care of that. Just a time to decompress, talk and laugh with my golf buddies.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jeffery Powell, co-owner of Alliance Entertainment Group and co-host of the 2DJs1Mic Podcast. At Alliance Entertainment Group, we specialize in creating unforgettable wedding and event experiences through luxury DJ services, lighting, and photo booths. What makes us unique is our focus on not just playing music, but crafting moments—curating the energy, vibe, and flow of an event so that every guest feels connected to the celebration.
Beyond entertainment, I’m passionate about the DJ industry itself, which is why I co-host the 2DJs1Mic Podcast and serve as Co-Editor of ProDJ APP Online Magazine—a platform created by DJs for DJs. Both projects allow me to share knowledge, build community, and highlight voices within the entertainment world.
Right now, we’re also working on bringing DJs together in a big way through a DJ conference in Arlington, Texas, in 2026, designed to inspire, educate, and elevate our industry.
At the core, my work is about connection—whether it’s connecting couples to their dream wedding experience, DJs to valuable resources, or industry professionals to one another.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My father. He taught me the value of doing good work, great work! Do the work you have been hired to do. Always put forth your best effort.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failing not measuring up. Many times I am afraid of stepping out or starting a new project for fear of it not working and having to face the reality of failing. In most cases if you don’t try you have already failed. So I have gotten better at facing my fear of failing and now stepping out on faith.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say integrity. Be true to your word. If you say you are going to do something keeping your word is of the utmost importance to me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
I will regret not believing I could be a full time DJ and support my family on with just being a mobile DJ. I wanted to my later years to finally decide to create a multi op DJ company and the rest is history. Why did I wait so long to believe I could do it.
