We recently had the chance to connect with Kyle Krall and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Kyle, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Who are you learning from right now?
I’m learning from everyone around me — musicians, photographers, editors, and even people outside the creative world. Anyone who’s genuinely committed to their craft teaches you something if you’re paying attention. The guys at Starting 5ive Productions have been a huge inspiration lately; the way they move as a team and stay locked in on their vision pushes me to stay sharp. I’m also learning a lot from the creatives I follow who are building their own paths and taking real risks. Being surrounded by that energy keeps me hungry and reminds me to keep leveling up.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kyle Krall, and I run both MediaByKyle and Fort Worth Music Magazine. MediaByKyle is my personal brand where I work directly with clients, offering photography, videography, and creative services tailored to their needs. Fort Worth Music Mag, on the other hand, is an outlet I built specifically to represent and uplift the artists in our city’s music scene. What makes my work unique is the balance between serving clients professionally while also creating a platform that gives local musicians and creatives a real voice. I started both from the ground up because I saw how much talent around here goes unnoticed, and I wanted to help change that. Today, I’m expanding into more interviews, show coverage, and collaborations that highlight the culture growing in Fort Worth. My mission is simple: to support the community, tell honest stories, and help our creative scene get the recognition it deserves.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a kid, I believed that success belonged to other people , people who were older, more connected, or came from the right background. I didn’t think someone like me could build something meaningful from scratch. Now I know that’s not true. Everything I’m doing now is proof that drive, consistency, and passion matter way more than where you start.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could tell my younger self one kind thing, it’d be that your creativity is going to take you further than trying to fit in ever will. You don’t have to act like everyone else or shrink what makes you different just to feel accepted. Trust the way you think — it’s what’s going to open doors later. Keep being you, even when it feels out of place.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I’ve always admired The Beatles, not because they were famous, but because of the kind of people they seemed to be. They had this openness to the world — like they were always exploring, learning, and trying to understand life on a deeper level. They weren’t afraid to evolve or follow whatever path felt true to them, even if it didn’t make sense to anyone else at the time. I look up to them because they remind me that staying curious and authentic is way more powerful than trying to control anything.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What I understand deeply — and what I think a lot of people miss — is that creativity is one of the few things that can actually pull you out of normality. When you create, you start seeing life in shapes and possibilities that don’t exist for everyone else. It becomes a key that unlocks your own route instead of the one everyone expects you to follow. Creativity doesn’t just break you out of the box — it teaches you that the box was never really yours to begin with.
