Levi Hollandsworth on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Levi Hollandsworth. Check out our conversation below.

Levi, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
Loneliness. I believe people are becoming more connected online but inversely disconnected in real life. We live in a very divisive time where people are unwilling or afraid of really listening to each other and making real connections. Social media is grooming people to live plastic lives for plastic likes and in the midst of it all, I believe we as a society are losing our collective minds.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Levi and I am an artist, an adventurer, an avid mountain biker and live music lover.
I travel the globe annually to experience new cultures, meet new people, try new foods and inspire communities through my art.
Currently I am based out of southern Germany and traveling throughout Europe meeting local artists and making art in every city I visit.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My father gave me my work ethic. When I was young I would wake up to him strapping up his boots at 4 am before he went to work. Most days the sun had gone down and we had already finished dinner by the time he got back home. He was a truck driver, a missionary, a race car driver, a car dealership owner, a roofer and currently now at 70, a fireman for the state of Washington. He taught me to follow my dreams no matter what anyone thought, to treat people (all people) with respect and admiration and to fight tooth and nail for your slice of the pie.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience. It made my skin thick and made me question how bad I wanted things in my life. Without suffering I believe there would be no real appreciation for all the things I have accomplished.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I saw a UFO twice in the same summer living on a resort on top of the Grand Tetons. I also was in my roommates car in Denver when an angel took the car over and literally talked to us through the radio. I believe angels and aliens are 100% real but I can’t prove it.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
He was a good man. He lived life to the utmost without fear or trepidation. He loved deeply and fiercely and gave everything he had to the community around him.
