Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Gamboa
Hi Veronica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got started with my business with the idea of using my talents as a side-hustle to my full-time job if you will. I had become what I thought at the time was pretty decent at my own makeup & began practicing makeup on friends to build my portfolio for Instagram and Facebook! From there, I was noticed by a makeup and hair team that reached out & I began working with them, from there honestly the amount of talented artists I met through this particular company it really started building and going up from there. The networking with other artists alone has truly made my business successful, which that I am forever grateful for. I now work for multiple makeup companies that keep me booked during wedding season as well as my personal bookings.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, as an artist & being in the industry for about 8 years you quickly figure out when your busy seasons are and when the slow times are going to be with the wedding industry, which is my main booking. The beauty industry is continuously growing & is saturated with so many talented artists these days, staying relevant & on the forefront of your business & bookings can be difficult at times. Social media is such a huge part of this industry, my goal is to be more consistent with posting and creating content.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a professional Makeup Artist & owner of Veronica Lynn Beauty. I specialize in traditional makeup for brides, bridal parties, photoshoots and or any other special event. I would say I’m known for the go-to soft glam look, but I am very versatile in the level of glam that I can create. I’m most proud of my ability to balance a full-time job, makeup on the weekends & being a Mom of two children all at the same time. It’s not an easy job, but it’s very fulfilling. I think what sets me apart from others is adapting well to any environment & the clients needs.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was definitely a tom-boy with a mix of girly girl. I always played sports; mainly basketball & softball, I loved being on a team, the friendships & memories will live in me forever. I loved being outdoors, riding bikes, rollerblading, going to the pool, going on adventures with friends. I’ve always considered myself to have a good sense of humor so laughing & making people laugh is the best feeling. I definitely feel like I was very “Motherly” growing up, but I think that’s because I was the oldest of 3 children. My girly side didn’t show until I was almost in High School, experimenting with makeup looks at that age & at the time was fun and cringe looking back now, but I feel like the awkward childhood times made us who we are today & will forever be grateful & humbled.
