We recently had the chance to connect with Ace Diosa and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ace, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me looks like, growth. I’m a person that takes things a day at a time, but also preparing for my future. I do the things that my future self would do even if I don’t feel like doing it today.
I wake up and thank the most highest first and foremost because I wouldn’t be where I am today without the spiritual guidance. I make sure I workout and eat balanced meals, self care is most important I don’t have a good day without these essentials things. Everyday i try to learn something new rather it’s in my field of work or not, knowledge is the key to life. As far as my field, I research different techniques and methods to try out. A day if a life for Ace, is definitely productive.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
STRŪT by Ace is a platform that encourages aspiring models to chase their dreams. STRŪT workshops teaches model etiquette, industry knowledge, and the basics on runway walks and posing. I create STRŪT to help anyone looking into building their career in the modeling industry. At STRŪT you learn the basics of modeling for an affordable price. STRŪT ISN’T AN AGENCY! It’s a mentorship for models to be able to grow without judgement.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
A lot of people seen me clearly before I could see myself. My mother Lashawn & sister Aaliyah are the people who REALLY seen me first. They knew I was going far in the modeling industry before I did. They would always encourage me and tell me I was born to be a model. A lot of people tell me I inspire them, and that is one of the reasons I continue to go as hard as I do. I want to be the change in someone life rather small or big that is another reason why I created STRŪT to continue to inspire and help aspiring models in the industry.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failing has held me back most in my life. I’m generally a fearless person, yet a perfectionist. Being a perfectionist sometimes is a negative trait, I use to be afraid of failing at things to the point I wouldn’t try. The fear of not being the best or great will be ones downfall. I’ve learned early on you only fail if you don’t try. Now anything I do I give it my all no matter how big or small the project. You may not receive the first place metal all the time but if you learn something from it you grow. Growth is always a win win in my book. Every experience is a learning opportunity, when I changed my outlook on failure I began to grow.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is definitely the real me. I stay true to who I am at all cost. Being a semi private person, theres parts of my life I do not share publicly. I do not publicize my entire life because my social media isn’t monetized. I share the essential information that is necessary for agencies or brands to see my professional work & personality for bookings.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I will always give everything my best even if I’m not praised for it. People who only do things for recognition is not a genuine person. Everything I do is genuine, I do things out of love and care for others. If you’re not putting your best foot forward you shouldn’t put any foot forward.
