We’re looking forward to introducing you to Chiamaka Offorjebe. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Chiamaka , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Since launching my skincare brand, Ojije Lifestyle, in June, my days have been go-go-go — in the best way. Some days are more chaotic than others, but I’m learning to embrace the rhythm. As an entrepreneur, I’m juggling a lot right now — from modeling and content creation to managing a growing business. I’m still finding my flow, but what grounds me is knowing I’m building something I truly believe in, brick by brick.
A normal day usually starts with gratitude — I wake up and thank God for another chance to pursue this vision. Then it’s my morning routine, which keeps me centered, and from there I dive straight into work — whether it’s content planning, formulating products, responding to customer messages, or organizing my next shoot. I typically end my day with a workout to release stress and recenter. It’s busy, but it’s purpose-filled — and that makes all the difference.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Chiamaka Offorjebe — a model, content creator, and the founder of Ojije Lifestyle, a skincare brand I launched to help people feel confident in their skin using intentional, natural ingredients. I was born in Nigeria and raised in the U.S., and both cultures deeply influence my identity, my values, and now, my business.
My journey into skincare started from a place of struggle — dealing with acne, dryness, and sensitive skin — and not always knowing what to use or what was safe. I’ve been making my own DIY skincare since 2020, researching ingredients and crafting products that actually work. That personal journey inspired me to create Ojije — a brand that merges beauty, wellness, and culture.
What makes Ojije Lifestyle special is that it’s more than just skincare. It’s about glowing from within, honoring your roots, and creating space for intentional care — physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I’m currently focused on building out our body glow collection and supporting people with both everyday skincare needs and more specific concerns like early-stage CCCA (a type of hair loss). There’s so much more coming, but I’m building it with care and purpose — one product, one post, one connection at a time.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
In 2017, while I was still in college, I got into a terrible car accident in Palm Springs. My ex and I were driving when the car rolled off a hill. He walked away with a head injury that needed stitches, but my injuries were more severe — my right arm was completely bruised, swollen, fractured in places, with chipped nails and intense pain. It looked like something out of a horror film.
After scans, the doctor told me there was a chance I might not regain full mobility in that arm. I remember panicking. Physical therapy was expensive, and honestly, the follow-up medical care was almost nonexistent. I ended up going home that summer, and all I had was prayer, faith, and YouTube. Every single day, I prayed and followed stretching videos online, slowly retraining my hand and arm — learning how to write again, how to lift things, how to trust my body.
Surviving that — and coming out stronger — was one of my earliest memories of feeling truly powerful. It reminded me that when I walk with God and do my part, He always shows up and handles the rest. Since then, there have been so many moments that confirm my purpose on this earth is still unfolding. That accident could have ended so much, but instead, it became the beginning of a deeper understanding of my strength, my faith, and my calling.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Funny enough, giving up is actually one of my biggest fears — and ironically, it’s what keeps me going. I’ve definitely had moments where I felt hesitant, overwhelmed, or unsure of myself, but deep down, I know I’d rather try and fail than sit with the regret of never trying at all.
I’m the type of person who will be scared, anxious, and even overthink it all — but eventually, I still push myself to go for it. And once I do, I let faith carry the rest. I’ve learned I can’t always control the outcome, but I always want to be able to say, “I did everything I could in that situation.” That gives me peace, even when things don’t go as planned.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Aside from the big Afro that people know as my signature look — yes, what you see is truly what you get. I don’t really know how to be anyone else. Whether I’m in front of the camera, mixing up skincare formulas, or just vibing to music at home, I carry the same energy. I think that’s why people connect with me — because I show up as myself, every time.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’d stop doubting myself so much. It sounds strange, but I’m both confident and shy — and yes, somehow both can exist at the same time. I know who I am and what I carry, but when it comes to making certain decisions, I tend to second guess myself. If I only had 10 years left, I’d want to move with full trust in my intuition, my gift, and the path God laid out for me — no hesitation, just bold steps.
