Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Daniella Bortone of Allen, TX

We recently had the chance to connect with Daniella Bortone and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Daniella, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately I’ve been really enjoying staying active and making time for things that make me feel good — like working out, going on walks, and just being outdoors. It’s helped me feel more grounded and energized. I’ve also been spending more quality time with the people I care about, which has been such a nice reminder to slow down and enjoy the little moments outside of work

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a lash artist of six years and the owner of Blinx Aesthetics, a small private studio based in Allen. My work focuses on enhancing natural beauty while giving clients a chance to express themselves through unique, customized lash styles. What makes my brand special is that I specialize in advanced lashing techniques and offer things you don’t often see — like colored lash extensions and colored lash lifts, from bold statement shades to soft brown tones for a more natural look. I love creating an experience that’s personal, fun, and tailored to each client. It’s all about helping women feel confident and effortlessly beautiful. Lately, I’ve been expanding my business by creating one on one training sessions and digital manuals to help other artists grow their skills and confidence in the lash industry. I’m really excited to venture in the world of training and mentoring. I’d love to share what I’ve learned and help others find their own creativity and success.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents taught me the most about work. They’ve always been incredibly hard-working and showed me the importance of dedication, consistency, and taking pride in what you do. Watching them work hard for what they have really shaped my own work ethic and the way I approach my business today.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Not that I can recall. I’ve definitely had challenging moments, but giving up has never really been an option for me. I’m a go-getter by nature. When I want something, I put my heart into it and find a way to make it work. I believe every setback is just part of the process, and that mindset has helped me grow so much in every aspect of my life.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, absolutely. The version of me that people see is the real me. I’ve learned that staying true to who I am is what connects me most with others. I don’t believe in watering myself down to fit in. Authenticity is a big part of who I am and what I bring into my work and everyday life.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think my clients would miss our conversations the most. Over the years, I’ve built relationships with so many of them that feel more like family than just clients. We laugh, catch up on life, and share stories during their appointments — it’s such a special bond. I think that personal connection is what makes each visit feel comfortable and meaningful.
