We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr. Angela S. King, DMin, DDiv, CLC, Ambassador. Check out our conversation below.
Dr. Angela S., really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
“For me, integrity matters most. Intelligence helps you solve problems, and energy helps you execute—but integrity determines why and how you do both. It builds credibility, strengthens relationships, and sustains success over time. Skills can be developed, but integrity defines character.”

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
The people who shaped my work ethic the most were my parents. They demonstrated that hard work is less about recognition and more about commitment. I watched their discipline, consistency, and quiet resilience every day. They showed me that work isn’t just about achievement—it’s about responsibility, integrity, and showing up even when it’s hard. They modeled sacrifice, and long-term thinking. Watching them navigate challenges with determination taught me that success is built on consistency and character, not shortcuts. Their example taught me that work is a reflection of your character. They showed me that dedication, humility, and resilience matter far more than titles.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I wrote my book, Not No Wait, about my infertility journey. Putting my story on paper required vulnerability, but it also gave me strength. What once felt isolating became a source of connection and purpose. Sharing it transformed my pain into power. For a long time, I carried that experience quietly. Writing the book forced me to confront it, own it, and ultimately reframe it. What started as something deeply personal evolved into something that could encourage, uplift and support others. Telling the truth about my infertility journey wasn’t easy, but it was freeing. I realized that transparency isn’t weakness—it’s strength. By sharing my story, I reclaimed my narrative and turned a private struggle into a platform for hope.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to building several schools in Africa—one focused on girls’ empowerment and another centered-on Bible study and spiritual formation. Education changes the trajectory of communities, and when you invest in young women and in faith-based foundations, you’re investing in generational impact. No matter how long it takes, that mission remains non-negotiable for me. Creating spaces where young women are educated, equipped, and spiritually grounded is work worth pursuing for a lifetime. Sustainable change begins with education, and when young women are given opportunity and strong spiritual foundations, entire communities are strengthened. That’s a vision I’m willing to pursue patiently and persistently. I believe education and faith are two of the most powerful tools for transformation. If it takes years, I’m prepared for that. Impact isn’t rushed—it’s built.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I loved deeply and intentionally—that I made others feel seen, valued, and special. I want my life to reflect compassion in action. And above all, I hope they recognize that my strength came from a consistent prayer life and a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. If my faith inspired others to grow closer to Him, that would mean everything to me.
