We recently had the chance to connect with Igxtelle Mbah-Acha Dopgima and have shared our conversation below.
Igxtelle , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My kids. Building is not the word I will use per se but “Raising”. Among the many hats I wear, is the mom hat that I don’t get to talk about so much but I am absolutely happy to be a mom and not just any mom but the mom to my two beautiful kids who are sweet, polite, respectful and more. I am most proud of the endless hardwork that goes into raising little humans.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Igxtelle, pronounced Xtel and I am an attorney, visionary, entrepreneur, wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt and a friend. I am the Managing Attorney of Igxtelle Law Group and the co founder of AMIG Group and the founder of The Association of Privacy Lawyers in Africa. I am an American of Cameroonian descent who is passionate about the rising of Africa.
Like I said, I wear many hats because I have been gifted in many ways.
A core of what I do with my law firm is providing Independent Escrow Services to Surrogacy Agreements and Home Improvement Contracts.
Being an independent neutral is something I enjoy and the reason behind why I provide these services to ensure that both parties arrive at an agreed goal while minimizing the likelihood of conflicts and disputes.
For Surrogacy Escrow services I ensure that the Surrogate is paid according to her agreement and the intended parents have the peace of mind that my firm has oversight.
For Home Improvement Contracts, my firm ensures that home owners get the most of the money secured for the Improvement of their home, and that the home contractors get paid on time and according to contract.
I am working on building my law firm and all other businesses I am currently building.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Paranoia and distrust breaks the bond between people.
What builds and brings people together is finding common ground and fostering conversation and communication
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Haha! Offcourse. Isn’t that the reality of life? Where we are constantly hanging on to the last thread and someone how another life line appears? I am at this place more times than I care to admit but somehow God throws me a life line in the form of an excellent client review, a new idea, a great deal, sudden chunks of money, a call from mom or dad, a hug from a loved one- something. And i don’t take those things for granted.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Excellence. My close friends will say I want things done and done well
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Someone who loved deeply, gave her all and lived a happy life.
