We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ileana Solis. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Ileana, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One thing that’s often misunderstood about my business is how much behind-the-scenes work goes into every service we provide. People see the final makeup look and assume it’s just about applying products, but they don’t always see the planning, the setup, the packing, the driving, the business management, the client communication, and the ongoing education it takes to stay at the top of our game.
Also, many don’t realize we’re not just artists, we’re also entrepreneurs. That means I have to balance creativity with structure, enforce policies, set boundaries, and protect my time and energy so I can give my best to every client.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Ileana, and I’m the founder of Beauty Style by Sol, a bilingual beauty brand based in the DFW area. I specialize in bridal makeup and hair, creating personalized, long-lasting looks that highlight each client’s unique beauty and confidence.
What makes my brand stand out is the care, professionalism, and positive energy we bring to every service. Whether it’s a wedding day or a creative shoot, my team and I focus on making every woman feel seen, empowered, and truly beautiful.
Beyond beauty services, I also offer makeup education through self-makeup masterclasses and pro artist course’s,helping aspiring MUAs confidently step into the industry with real-world tools and guidance.
I recently launched Queens Beauty Extensions, my own line of high-quality human hair clip-in extensions made especially for quinceañeras, brides, and anyone wanting to elevate their look with volume and glam.
I also rent my professional suites rooms in Dallas, providing a clean, stylish, and fully space for other artists in the area to build their own beauty dreams.
Right now, I’m focused on growing my brands, developing new business classes, and continuing to uplift women through both beauty and entrepreneurship.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
One of my earliest memories of feeling powerful was the first time I did someone’s makeup and saw their entire energy shift. They sat in my chair quiet and unsure and by the end, they were smiling, glowing, and walking with confidence. That moment made me realize I wasn’t just applying makeup; I was helping someone feel like the best version of themselves.
It was a quiet kind of power, but it stuck with me. From that moment, I knew this was my purpose and it’s the same feeling I chase every time I create, teach, or lead in my business today.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up. Like many entrepreneurs, I hit a point where the pressure felt overwhelming , balancing clients, managing a team, maintaining a personal life, and still trying to grow. I had moments where I questioned if it was worth it, especially when people didn’t see the effort behind the scenes: the long hours, the missed family events, the sacrifices.
But what kept me going was remembering why I started: to empower women, to create a space where beauty is about confidence, not perfection, and to build something that belongs to me. Every happy client, every student who finishes my class inspired, every little milestone reminded me that the dream is worth the hustle.
I’ve learned that wanting to give up doesn’t make you weak pushing through is what makes you strong.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is real but it’s just one layer.
What you see on social media or at events is the focused, professional, passionate version of me the one who shows up with purpose, drive, and vision. That’s all very real.
But like everyone, there’s more behind the scenes: the tired moments, the doubts, the quiet wins, the deep love I have for what I do, even when it’s hard. I’m not always “on,” but I am always authentic. What I share is true, I just don’t always show the full picture.
That’s the balance of being a business owner and a human. I protect some parts of me to stay grounded, but the heart behind what I do? That’s always real.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I could and I have.
There have been many times I gave my all late nights, early mornings, pouring my energy into clients, classes, and content with no praise, no recognition, no applause. But I kept going. Why? Because I’m not doing this for claps I’m doing it for impact.
I believe in excellence even when no one is watching. The transformation in a client’s confidence, the student who messages me later to say they started their business, the quiet moments when I know I gave my best that’s enough.
Of course, recognition feels good. But real passion doesn’t depend on praise it keeps showing up, regardless.
