Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Justin Hall of Fort Worth

We recently had the chance to connect with Justin Hall and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Many people misunderstand what sets our wealth management firm apart. Because we’re CFP® professionals, fiduciaries, and strictly fee-only advisors, some assume we operate like traditional brokers or investment salespeople. In reality, we don’t earn commissions, push proprietary products, or prioritize anything above our clients’ best interests. Our role is to offer objective, evidence-based advice that’s fully aligned with each client’s goals. That distinction can be overlooked in a crowded industry, but it’s at the core of how we build trust and long-term relationships

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Justin Hall, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and fiduciary wealth advisor passionate about helping people gain clarity, confidence, and control over their financial lives. I lead a fee-only wealth management firm where we prioritize planning first and take an evidence-based approach to investing—always aligned with our clients’ best interests, never driven by commissions or product sales. I work with a wide range of clients, including doctors, lawyers, dentists, small business owners, and high-net-worth families, helping them grow and protect their wealth while making informed financial decisions. Growing up in a family of small business owners gives me a unique perspective on entrepreneurship, and outside of work, I enjoy coaching my kids’ sports, playing golf, attending church, and cheering on OU football on the weekends.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was when I stepped into my family’s business and took on real responsibility—interacting with customers, making decisions that affected employees, and owning something that others depended on me for. Experiencing firsthand the weight of that responsibility and the direct impact of my choices changed my perspective on life. It taught me the importance of accountability, thoughtful decision-making, and long-term thinking—lessons I carry into my work as a financial planner, helping clients navigate complex decisions and plan for a future that truly matters.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me lessons that success never could. Everything I have today—my education, experiences, and career—has come through hard work and challenges, from growing up in sports, to college, to stepping into the family business, and finally building my wealth management firm. These experiences taught me resilience, perseverance, and the value of thoughtful decision-making, while also grounding me in reality and giving me a toughness and fight I never would have developed otherwise. I believe these challenges are part of what has made me so effective at what I do, allowing me to guide clients through complex financial decisions with clarity, confidence, and empathy.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies our industry tells itself is that wealth management is about selling the “right” product or chasing the highest returns. Too many firms act like financial success can be packaged, when in reality, it’s about thoughtful planning, disciplined strategies, and decisions aligned with each client’s life and goals. Another misconception is that incentives don’t influence advice—being fee-only and fiduciary isn’t just a title; it’s a commitment to putting clients first, period. At our firm, we reject the industry’s shortcuts and hype, focusing instead on clarity, long-term growth, and building trust through planning that truly makes a difference.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I genuinely made a difference in their lives—that I cared deeply about them, not just their money. I want to be remembered as someone who helped families, professionals, and business owners feel more confident and secure about their futures, and who always put their interests first. Beyond my work, I hope people remember me as a devoted husband, father, and friend—someone who showed up, gave his time, and led with integrity. Most importantly, I hope my life reflected my faith and in some way glorified Jesus Christ, inspiring others through my actions, values, and the way I treated those around me.
