We’re looking forward to introducing you to Klarissa. Check out our conversation below.
Klarissa, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I am a songwriter and artist, and I have been learning to fall in love with life itself in my free time.
A good catch up over coffee or brunch is a must for me. I’m finding time to slow down in the midst of work. Anything that gives me a chance to reflect and appreciate the small but important things in life, has been meaningful to me lately.
It can be easy to let busyness take over, but regular rhythms of rest help with creating a sense of balance.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a storyteller at heart and I use music and lyrics to paint stories. The heart behind my music is that the world needs more love and understanding. My hope is that people feel seen and heard through my music.
Inspired by soul, r&b, and pop, my music captures deep feelings like love, nostalgia, joy, and longing.
I am working on a few upcoming music projects that will be released in 2026. The best way to keep updated on these projects is through my social media.
See the links below.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents have known that music would be a big part of my life since I was young. They always encouraged me to pour into my musical skills. I am very thankful that they took the time to invest in me from a very young age.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self: “if only you knew what God has in store for you”. It is easy to feel discouraged on any journey. Life is not always roses by any means, but sometimes we need those reminders that God has good things for us.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I used to believe that in order to succeed, I needed to be someone specific. It turns out, I just needed to be exactly who I was created to be. Once I began to pour into my own value, everything began to change.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I will regret not making the most of every day. A lyric in one of my songs “Thin Line” says “You’ve got one chance to live. Live it well”.
I live by that line. I try to keep a positive mindset about my day because every day is a gift.
