Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Kristen Sheffey of Dallas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kristen Sheffey . Check out our conversation below.

Kristen, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Everyday is different, but a typical day usually starts with waking up early and making breakfast for my one year old. We play until she naps late morning and I do some content work mainly on instagram. We then have lunch and will go do a fun activity like music class or the pool and then she has another nap. While she naps I usually clean and get other things done. We then play or walk some more until dinner and after she goes down for bedtime I hang out with my husband and try to squeeze in some more time on instagram/content planning and relax and go to bed! Regimented but having a lot of fun with my daughter right now!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a content creator that focuses on fashion, home, travel, and motherhood! My daughter just turned one and I am having so much fun with her! I love to share things I genuinely love using. I have worked in fashion and interior design and like to mix both into what I share. I mainly share my content on instagram but have a blog I started about 7 years ago – dressedbykbs.com where I highlight a lot of my travels and fashion! I am a full time mom but love to create content and share fun finds while I shop and travel with all of my followers.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My Dad! I have always admired him for his hard work. Growing up he always helped me with my homework and sports and helped me gain confidence and improve in whatever I was doing. I always dreaded math homework and he was always there to help me 🙂 he is always the person I go to for career and school advice. I admire him so much for his hard work and dedication and has taught me to be very disciplined in what I do.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Even when you don’t feel it, God is working things for your good! Don’t give up on your dreams no matter how silly you think they are now! Go for it!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
100%! I am the same with my content just as I am in person. I am always told by friends how I am always so “honest” and genuine.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Worrying! Spend less time worrying and more time doing fun things that I love!
