We’re looking forward to introducing you to LaMarcus Ross. Check out our conversation below.
Hi LaMarcus , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m on a continuous journey of personal and spiritual growth. With each step, I’m learning more about who I am, acknowledging my flaws and overcoming my fears. I’m also growing closer to God and learning how to walk consistently in righteousness and faith. This process has helped me become more grounded, self-aware, and intentional in how I live and lead.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is LaMarcus Ross, also known as King Qreed. First and foremost, I’m a servant of God. I’m a husband to my beautiful wife, Stephani, and a father to four wonderful children—Leila, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Kamron. Professionally, I am a Christian rapper, songwriter, and visual artist (known as @ArtByQreed). I am also the co-founder of Fresh24 Collective.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The One who created me saw me clearly long before I ever saw myself. In His Word—Jeremiah 29:11—He reminds me, ‘I know the plans I have for you… plans for peace, prosperity, and a future filled with hope.’ That truth has shaped my identity and guided my purpose.
Secondly, my wonderful Wife has played a major role in my growth. She has watched me develop and learn to see myself the way God sees me. I’m truly thankful and deeply grateful that God blessed me with a partner who walks with me, supports me, and shares this journey of life with me.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds in my life have come from seasons of inconsistency and from moments where I allowed fear to hold me back from my full potential. Other defining moments were my failures—times when I didn’t see myself the way God sees me. My healing began through understanding and growth, giving myself permission to be vulnerable and learning not to be so hard on myself. I’ve learned to extend grace to myself.
As a former college athlete, that competitive spirit is still in me. Now I use it differently—channeling it into the life I’m building today. I compete with the man in the mirror, pushing myself to remain consistent, motivated, and focused. I’ve realized, just as Will Smith said, that ‘life is on the other side of fear.’ Fear is just a mountain standing in the way—and mountains can be moved.
Many people live in complacency, with no drive and an ‘it is what it is’ mentality. I’ve chosen not to let that mindset take root. Instead, I’ve embraced vulnerability in a healthy way. If I need to cry, I allow myself to express those emotions. It doesn’t make me weak as a man; it has made me stronger. That emotional honesty has shaped me into a better version of myself and has helped me see myself the way God sees me.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Jesus Christ above anyone else. I admire His faithfulness, His loyalty, His truthfulness, and the depth of His love. His grace, kindness, and mercy inspire me daily. The way He continues to love those who wrong Him, the way He provides for those in need, and the way He lived a perfect and blameless life—He is the ultimate model of who we should strive to be.
To love like Christ is one of my greatest goals. I admire how He resisted temptation, stood firm against the enemy, and upheld perfect integrity. His character, His strength, and His compassion are qualities I look up to and aim to reflect in my own life
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
One of my greatest regrets would be failing to live up to my full potential and not becoming the person God has called me to be. I know I’m meant to lead, to speak up, and to walk boldly in the identity He’s given me. God has entrusted me with many gifts, and I believe my next assignment is to step fully into authorship and publish books that can impact lives.
I believe God allowed me to walk through certain experiences so I could gain the wisdom needed to help others on their own journeys. My goal now is to stay focused, disciplined, and committed to writing books that motivate, encourage, and empower people—especially those who share similar struggles and stories
