Mike Kinder shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Mike, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My favorite activity outside of work is spending time with Miracle League of Frisco. My youngest son is active in many of the Miracle League sports and it gives us a great opportunity to participate in Miracle League events, work with the kids, and get to know the great Buddies who volunteer their time.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the Co-Founder and CEO of a Dallas-based manufacturing technology company called Veryable Inc. Our company was founded with the mission to revitalize American manufacturing and streamline the adoption of the wealth of innovation currently on the sidelines. The thesis is simple: American manufacturing has been demoralized to the point of fatigue but we have all the capabilities necessary to return it to prominence. It starts with getting labor optimization correct and embodying Lean Manufacturing principles. Once these building blocks are in place, the transformation journey can accelerate with next level innovations in software, hardware, AI, etc.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother is the one who taught me most about work. She’s always been a worker, whether that’s at home or in the workforce. She set the example. She worked multiple jobs and often crazy shift patterns to support me and my sister while still creating a great home.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Keeping this answer strictly on the work side of the equation, the wounds have been plentiful since 2020 when the globalist coup went overt starting with the pandemic hoax. This was a major obstacle for US manufacturing and the damage done was overshadowed by the mass media fear campaigns and fake economic data. The onslaught continued into the following years with the deliberate economic sabotage through money printing, government-funded importation of scab labor, inflation, and interest rates. It’s been difficult for US manufacturing, especially small business, to stand up to this ongoing coup and it has created major headwinds for those promoting domestic manufacturing growth and innovation. That said, strength comes from the struggle and this 5 year battle has hardened those involved in the counter coup. There is big momentum forming among those who have managed to survive and we will lead the manufacturing renaissance on the other side of the war.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
My Catholic faith is the most foundational truth. It’s not that I rarely articulate them, but it’s more that setting an example should be done with action versus words. That’s certainly a form of articulation but it’s often forgotten in this age of influencers, social media, etc. Followers of Christ are called to be courageous and the righteous path is often not the expedient path. The last 5 years have presented many expedient paths and it has been difficult to stand up against the schemes and temptations. The strength to do what is right comes from the willingness to make yourself an instrument of the Lord and follow His lead.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When have you had to bet the company?
We have consistently bet the company throughout our history and it’s one of our proudest accomplishments. We have a tremendous team capable of incredible feats, which is why we have been one of the most capital efficient startups in the country since our inception. There are points where it would be easier to raise more capital than needed and throw excess cash at problems and/or opportunities. Even take some rescue capital when times are tough. Our path has consistently been one of betting on ourselves, and this has always worked for us because we have the right culture, a track record of winning, and the battle scars to prove it.
