Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Shanice Jackson of Dallas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Shanice Jackson . Check out our conversation below.

Hi Shanice , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day looks like having conversation with God praying and meditating.
If you pray for 15 minutes, you should listen for 15 minutes. If you pray for an hour, you should listen for an hour.
My mornings start at 6 o’clock; I haven’t fully gotten the 5:00 a.m. schedule down packed yet.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Shanice Jackson, and I am the founder of a nonprofit organization called Women of Tenacity. I started the organization in April 2018. This is my second feature in Voyage Dallas my first was in October 2019 and wow, time has truly flown by as we are now in the first quarter of 2026.
Since my last interview, I have become an author of two books, appeared on television, and launched a women’s book club.
So much has happened, and I’ve been able to add expansion to Women of Tenacity, all because of God. I’m also working on relaunching my podcast, which is super exciting for me.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Growing up, I often felt misunderstood, like people didn’t truly see or understand me.
But as I grew older and spent more time with God on my knees in prayer, fasting, and being hidden in the secret place I came to a realization I was never misunderstood. God called me to be different. He called me from the back to the front. Through Him, I learned to see myself the way He sees me beautifully and wonderfully made, smart, kind, and loving. And with time, I’ve come to understand that I am exactly where I need to be, because God has placed me here for a purpose.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I can say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: you go, girl, never settle, and stay in your own lane. It will take you further. Trust God with everything.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I’m a woman of great character who enjoys life and loves to socialize. I know how to have fun, but I’m also firm about my values and boundaries.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
In moments when I can genuinely be myself.
