Terrance Thomas shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Terrance, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I would hire me. I asked others what they thought and they said “I would hire you because you are a proven leader and community builder who consistently organizes impactful events that bring people together. You are a dynamic DJ, and emcee, able to both energize and inspire crowds in any setting. You excel as a strategic connector, building strong networks that help businesses and individuals grow. Your creativity shines through in innovative projects, from customized wedding services to planning the DFW Celebration Expo. You are versatile and adaptable, thriving in corporate, cultural, political, and family-friendly environments. You bring fresh ideas and the ability to execute them with excellence. Above all, you are a leader, connector, and creator who moves people through music, words, and vision.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Terrance, aka DJ Mr T, and my passion is creating unforgettable experiences through Sanya Events. Over the years, I’ve produced, DJ’d, and emceed events of every kind including corporate gatherings, cultural festivals, fundraisers, expos, and family celebrations. With each event, I focus on building meaningful connections between people, businesses, and communities. At Sanya Events, we specialize in curating experiences that not only entertain but also empower, whether that means showcasing vendors, celebrating culture, or inspiring growth. I bring versatility to the table, having managed everything from intimate meet-and-greets to large-scale conferences with thousands in attendance. Creativity is at the core of my approach, blending music, storytelling, and strategic planning to make every moment memorable. I’ve seen firsthand how the right atmosphere can turn an event into a movement, and that’s what drives me forward. My mission with Sanya Events is simple: to move people through music, connection, and vision. I aim to leave every event better than I found it.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My work ethic is built on consistency, creativity, and the belief that every event deserves excellence. Over time, I’ve learned that preparation and adaptability are just as important as vision, because no two events are ever the same. I value collaboration and know that strong partnerships create stronger outcomes for everyone involved. Through challenges, I’ve discovered the importance of resilience when things don’t go as planned, I focus on solutions, not setbacks. I’ve also learned that listening is a powerful tool, because the best events come from truly understanding the people they are meant to serve. My commitment is to lead with integrity, give my full energy to every project, and keep growing with each new opportunity. At the core of it all, I believe hard work paired with purpose can turn any idea into an unforgettable experience.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of being in front of people was significant. I did not view myself as worthy. Overcoming fear has been one of my greatest lessons. When I stepped onto stages in China, performing for crowds as large as 6,000 at the ISY Music Festival, the fear was real and undeniable. Instead of letting it hold me back, I learned to transform that fear into energy that fueled my performance. Each moment on stage became a chance to turn nervousness into passion and passion into connection with the audience. Fear didn’t disappear; it became the spark that pushed me to give my very best.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is the real me as I don’t put on a mask for the crowd. My energy level may shift depending on the setting, but my commitment to being Terrance Thomas never changes. Authenticity is at the core of everything I do, whether I’m on stage, behind the scenes, or in everyday life. I don’t compromise who I am to fit someone else’s expectations. If people expect me to change for them, I simply move on and stay true to myself.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If I were immortal, I would dedicate my time to building a business entertainment empire that creates lasting opportunities for others. My vision would be to give a platform to people who have never been given a real chance to shine. Through Sanya Events, I would open doors for entrepreneurs, artists, and dreamers to showcase their talents and grow their brands. Immortality would give me the time to refine, expand, and elevate the experiences I create for communities everywhere. Sanya Events would become a true gateway to success, empowering countless people to achieve what once felt impossible. In the end, my immortality would not be about me living forever, but about the legacy of opportunities I leave behind for others.
