Tiffany Ekpete shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Tiffany, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
What’s bringing me joy right now is reconnecting with the parts of myself I had put on pause. Whether that’s writing for my upcoming book, preparing new episodes for Divine Duality, or simply prioritizing my mental and emotional wellness, I’m finding joy in rediscovering me. I’m learning that joy often comes disguised as stillness, clarity, and alignment—and this season has been full of all three.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tiffany Ekpete, and at my core, I am a purpose-driven educator, creator, and advocate for mental wellness and community transformation. I have spent more than two decades in education and currently serve as a Partnership Development Manager in the ed tech space, where I help schools and districts strengthen learning environments through meaningful, research-backed tools.
Outside of that work, I am the Founder and CEO of The Wishing Well Global Foundation, a nonprofit that provides innovative mental health resources and support to underserved communities around the world. The foundation is deeply personal to me because it reflects my belief that healing should be accessible to everyone, regardless of location, identity, or circumstance.
I also host a podcast titled Divine Duality, which has become a powerful space for storytelling, reflection, and spiritual growth. The show explores the tension between calling and intention, and it gives me the opportunity to speak honestly about purpose, alignment, and the courage it takes to rebuild. As the reigning Mrs. Southern States Curvé titleholder within the Mrs. Globe organization, I also use my platform to spotlight mental health advocacy, educational equity, and meaningful service.
What makes my brand unique is that every part of my work connects to the same mission. I am committed to helping people see themselves more clearly, honor their journeys, and rise stronger than the obstacles that were meant to stop them. Right now, I am expanding that mission through the development of my upcoming book, Journey to Myself, and through new partnerships that bring transformative practices to children, families, and communities.
Purpose is not a destination for me. It is a daily choice, and I am grateful that my work allows me to inspire, empower, and uplift others as they walk their own paths.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My MawMaw saw me clearly long before I ever understood who I was becoming. She recognized my strength, my heart for people, and my desire to make a difference. Even in my younger years, when I was unsure of my own voice or direction, she spoke to the woman she knew I would grow into. She guided me with wisdom, love, and a steady belief that I was created for something meaningful. Her faith in me became the foundation I still stand on today, and I carry her voice with me in every room, every opportunity, and every season of purpose.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life have come from seasons where I felt unseen, unheard, or unloved. I experienced moments where the people I trusted the most became the sources of my deepest hurt. For a long time, those wounds shaped how I showed up in relationships, how I viewed myself, and how I moved through the world.
My healing began when I chose to stop running from the hard places and started acknowledging the truth of my experiences. I learned to give language to what hurt, instead of carrying it in silence. Therapy, prayer, and intentional self work helped me unravel patterns that were rooted in old pain. I also learned to set healthy boundaries, to listen to my inner voice, and to honor my emotional and spiritual needs without apology.
Healing for me is not a finish line. It is a daily choice to release what no longer serves me and to create space for peace, clarity, and alignment. The wounds that once felt like the end of me have become the beginning of a deeper purpose. They taught me resilience, compassion, and the strength to rebuild my life with intention. Today, I use those lessons to empower others, because I believe that what once broke you can become the very thing that helps someone else find their way back to themselves.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what matters most to me is impact. They know I live with a deep desire to make a difference in every space I enter, whether that is through education, mental health advocacy, community service, or simply showing up for people in meaningful and authentic ways. They would also say that I care deeply about creating safe and healing spaces for others to grow.
They would also tell you that my husband, my daughter, my faith, and my purpose are at the center of my life. They see how much I care about helping others heal, grow, and find clarity in their own journeys. And they would tell you that no matter how busy or stretched I may be, I will always make room for gratitude, compassion, and the small moments that remind us what truly matters.
In their eyes, I am someone who loves with my whole heart, leads with compassion, and is always striving to leave people better than I found them.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope the story people tell about me is that I lived with intention and poured light into every place I stepped into. I want to be remembered as someone who did not just talk about purpose, but lived it in a way that helped others discover their own. I hope they say I loved deeply, that I showed up fully, and that I never stopped believing in the possibility of healing and transformation, no matter how hard the season.
I want people to remember that I gave my heart to service and advocacy because I believed that every child, every family, and every community deserved access to wellness and hope. I hope they tell the story of a woman who faced her own storms with courage and still found the strength to lift others while she rebuilt herself.
Most of all, I want people to say that I left them better than I found them. That my presence made them feel seen. That my words helped them feel understood. And that my life, from beginning to end, was a reflection of faith, love, and purpose lived out loud.
