Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Tuyana Chimitova of Dallas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Tuyana Chimitova. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Tuyana, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Who are you learning from right now?
Good morning everyone, I’m very happy to share with you my story. So, I’ve been learning a lot from the writings of Alain de Botton, he makes philosophy feel personal and practical, like a guide to everyday life. Artistically, I’m inspired by Hilma af Klint. Her work reminds me to trust intuition and go deeper than what’s visible. Both teach me to stay curious and true to my inner voice.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Yes, sure. I’m Graphic designer and Artist located at Dallas. My work is inspired by nature, culture, and emotion. I love combining clean modern design with deeper, more intuitive artistic expression. I often explore themes like identity, movement, and inner transformation. Right now, I’m working on a series of projects that blend traditional symbolism with contemporary design. For me, creativity is a way to tell stories without words to connect, reflect, and create space for emotion and beauty.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One moment that really shaped me was moving away from home and starting over in a new place. It made me realize how much identity is built through contrast. What we keep, what we let go, and how we adapt. It taught me to stay open, to observe quietly, and to find beauty in change, even when it feels uncertain.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time when I felt completely lost, like nothing I created made sense anymore. I questioned my path, my style, even my voice as an artist. But instead of quitting, I gave myself permission to pause. That break reminded me why I started: not for perfection, but for expression. Sometimes stepping back is what helps you move forward.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Not completely. I’m actually very quiet and introspective. I spend a lot of time in my head, thinking and observing. On social media or in photos, I might look strong and outgoing, but in real life, I’m more soft-spoken and calm. I think my silence is where most of my creativity comes from.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
When I pick up my art brushes and canvas, a quiet world opens up just only me, the colors, and the movement. It feels like stepping into another space, where time slows down and the noise of the outside world fades away. In that moment, the whole world shrinks to the size of the canvas, and nothing else exists.
