Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Torres.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Blessed Photography was based on a dream, to help others.
My business was truly created because I wanted to help those people who have a hard time taking time to enjoy the little things.
I moved a lot as a child and lived once in a shelter. I remember hearing a mom in there telling her kids they couldn’t do school pictures because they didn’t have money to get them. I saw many scenarios like this as I grew up even my family faced those moments. However, I knew I wanted to be the helping hand to start this to be able to give to others.
My passion for life and my love to help others was what helped me created Blessed Photography. I want to be a blessing to others.
I tell all my clients, let me know what you can and what you can’t so I can work with you and find a solution. Your memories are worth being capture.
Every moment is worth framing.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No journey is smooth unless you own like the entire world and you have bills to throw away. All journeys have their bumps in the road but it’s worth it. The challenges I’ve had to face have made me become more prepared and aware of my business. I recently had my first bad review, it took time to face it. However, I think bad reviews are there to tell you, how much you still have to learn and grow. For the beginners, don’t let obstacles get in the way of your dream. Keep pushing!
My biggest overall struggle is how to balance my passion with my wallet.
If I could trust, I would be buying every little prop I see, but I have to limit myself because I am still trying to save to have my own little studio to be able to decor for my clients.
Yes, I still have so much to learn but I am blessed with all the bumps.
What do you do? What do you specialize in?
In the beginning, I wanted to specialize in everything: Weddings to Birth sessions. However, as I kept learning, I realize my gift was to work with children and moms to be. When I became a mother myself, my work also became even better than before. I realize the magic of becoming a mom.
I now specialize more on Children and Maternity, but of course, lifestyle and portraits are on the side.
I am most proud of how much heart I put in my photography.
I don’t like to give a certain amount of pictures, I love to give more than I should.
My prices can change due to budget and I work with anyone who truly needs it.
I guess that’s what sets me apart. I don’t try to get your money, I try to get your moments and be as helpful as I can to make it happen. Money is good, but I am more in it for the moments I get to capture.
Who have you been inspired by?
Honestly, I have a huge list.
Salma, Gina Rodriguez, Michelle Obama, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Kobeissi and Hope Taylor.
However, my mom is the most inspiring to me.
She has worked all her life to give us the best. None of the big obstacles that have come her way have stopped her to keep succeeding as a mother and women of God.
All these women, have one thing in common.
They have to keep on pushing to make a difference with their voice.
As well, as share it with the rest of the world.
That’s something I want to do.
I want to create change even if it’s with photos but use that talent to bring joy to others.
