Today we’d like to introduce you to Aundrea Love.
Aundrea, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My love for fashion started at an early age. As a kid, I would draw and sketch clothing for fun. I started to really understand my passion when I would pick out my grandmother’s clothes and accessories for her when she was living with us. I always knew I would be a fashion designer or in the fashion industry in some capacity. At 19 years old, I quit my corporate job at AT&T and told my mom, I wanted to open a clothing boutique for men and women. With her support, I was able to get into the fashion industry and start learning merchandising, buying, and styling on a first-hand level. From there, things took off and so started styling athletes and other locals from my boutique. I went on to style other celebrities for major publications and tv networks like the MTV Music Awards and Soul Train Awards. I have been blessed to have a network of people that support me and share my talent with their peers. As of now, I am still a wardrobe stylist and an online boutique owner. I am currently developing my own brand of ready to wear women’s clothing that will launch this fall. I am excited about what’s next for me in the fashion industry!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an entrepreneur has not been a smooth road yet it has been rewarding. I always knew I would work for myself and I now have multiple businesses. The main struggle for me has been a feeling of discouragement. I say this because obstacles get in the way and leave you feeling as though your dreams are slipping through your fingers and the opportunity is gone. However, you cannot give up because something didn’t happen as planned, resilience is key and if your following your purpose things will eventually work themselves out. I truly believe anyone can accomplish their dreams and be successful by believing in yourself and conditioning your mind to always think positively no matter the circumstances. My spirituality has gotten me through the toughest of times and this is the only reason why I have been an entrepreneur for over ten years.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I consider myself a Lifestyle Consultant. I believe that your style is everything about you as a person. How you carry yourself, your career, and personality are normally reflected in your style. I specialize in helping individuals identify those traits along with working with their body type to make them feel confident and comfortable in their clothing. I am most proud of the fact that my brand is about empowering people to think outside the box and live fearlessly through fashion. If you don’t try things you will never know what you like. I set myself apart from others because each of my clients is different. Not one person is the same and I never treat them as such. All of my clients walk away knowing they have their own unique style and my service is not inorganic I simply enhance and bring their personal style to life!
Who have you been inspired by?
My mother, grandmother, and aunts. I’ve always seen them work their asses off to reach success and go after their goals with perseverance. Having women in my life that have surpassed the societal norms keeps me motivated at what’s to come for myself.
