Life and Work with Autumn Gregory

Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Gregory.

Autumn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been fasinated with cosmetology since a very young age. iGLAM, which stands for I Give Life After Makeovers, took off after I was involved in an abusive relationship. During that time, makeup became therapeutic for me as a way to cope with my situation. I was able to be creative and look better than I felt. After I was able to get out of that relationship and heal, I began to volunteer at battered women shelters and teach makeup classes while sharing my story. It’s not just about dressing up a pretty face, makeup is a ministry to me.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As we all know, nothing in life comes easy. This hasn’t been the easiest journey but it is my passion and a gift from God so it is definitely worth it. One thing I will say for young women starting their journey is to give everything that they have and put up a good fight for what they were blessed to do! Make sure you are serving others through love, that’s how your business will grow.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with iGLAM – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I love to enhance women’s natural beauty. I like to expose features that women already have and add a pop! I want women to be able to recognize themselves but also say: “Wow I did not know this (feature) was beautiful about me or that it even existed!”

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
I would say through it all, trust the process. It may seem like things are going great one minute, then out of whack the next, but keep going. Through any process, comes growth and lessons to learn from, to make you more relatable to the people that you need to reach.
