Today we’d like to introduce you to Brigette Danielle.
Brigette, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Kansas City but I have always been a Texas girl at heart. I moved to Texas in 2006 to go to college, but I ended up starting my journey as a wife and mom instead. I studied fashion design for three years and my passion for fashion quickly became a staple for my business, By Brigette Danielle.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has honestly been a roller coaster ride (I know that sounds cliché). I have had many highs in my career! I have been blessed to cover local fashion weeks, work with top name brands and I have had the privilege of writing for local magazines.
The lows have also come and gone as well. Some people have judged, overlooked and flat-out ignored my progress simply because they don’t want to see me win. (It’s all good, lol!)
My advice for any young women in this world can be best summed up by Kevin G. “Don’t let the haters stop you from doing your thang!”. Yes… I still quote Mean Girls, haha!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a blogger at heart! I love writing and sharing my personal thoughts and experiences with my readers. My blog, By Brigette Danielle, talks about family lifestyle, beauty, health, and style. I personally feel like I am known for being a fashionable plus size mom that shares all of my wins, fears, and goals! I am most proud of the progress my brand has made in general. From my growth of writing and photography to my organization of planning content and landing campaigns. The thing that sets me apart from a lot of other bloggers and brands is that I truly appreciate those that take the time to read, comment, like, share and all that Jazz. I try my best to connect with them and support them in return.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
Yes!! Growing up, I had one of the most traumatic experiences ever. My grandmother cut off all my hair! I had a fro until like 5th grade, lol. I was always bullied and deemed “the ugly friend.” Once I moved away from all of that, I came into my own and that lit a fire in me to not only be great but love the person I was! That confidence plus an amazing support system has helped me get on and stay on my path to success.
