Today we’d like to introduce you to Brynna Kibler.
Brynna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My skincare journey started when I was a child making DIY skincare products with my mom for our “spa days.” Then, I developed severe acne in my teen years which left residual scars and diminished my self-confidence all the way through college. After spending so much time wallowing and hiding my face under bandaids (and the misshapen bangs that I cut out of frustration), I took it upon myself to learn more about skincare and the active ingredients that could help my situation. I saw my skin change positively over time, then my peers took notice and started coming to me for skincare advice. This went on until I started my first full-time job after college. I didn’t pursue my Esthetician license until a coworker at one of my side hustles recommended that I go through the program. While I was pursuing my license (and working my full-time job at the same time), I made it my goal to touch as many faces as possible and learn as much as possible about ingredients and the various skin types/tones. I let curiosity guide me in those 11 months and once I graduated, I made the decision to open my own business so I can continue helping people.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth. 7Esthetics Skin Studio is both my passion and side hustle, so this can create challenges for me when I’m trying to manage my time and responsibilities. Not to mention, I’m also married and have to make sure I’m taking enough time for myself and to be present for my partner. My advice for other women: don’t try to do it all by yourself, and don’t strive for perfection because you’ll never get it. Also, celebrate every little accomplishment and find an accountability buddy to keep you motivated.
Please tell us about 7Esthetics Skin Studio.
I specialize in corrective facial and body services targeting common skin concerns like acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, aging, etc. All of my services are custom to that particular client’s needs/concerns, so not everyone will receive the same facial/body treatment. My passion for service and building relationships sets me apart and is something I’m most proud of. Every client that comes through my door has a meaningful relationship with me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to develop that relationship while helping them become the best versions of themselves. I’m also known for my enthusiastic and optimistic approach to skincare–I will celebrate even the smallest skin wins with my clients and help them see the positive changes in their skin.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
Whew! Ever since I started my business, I’ve been digesting ALL of the resources! I listen to so many podcasts everyday during my commutes to/from my full-time job and my studio. Some of my favorites are “Boss So Hard,” “Side Hustle Pro,” “Spa Marketing Made Easy,” “Girlboss Radio,” “Market Like a Boss,” and “Beauty Bizz BFFs.” The books that I’ve read and re-read are “Dare to Lead” by Dr. Brene Brown, “Crush It” (and its successor “Crushing It”) by Gary Vaynerchuk, and “You Are a Badass” by Jen Sincero. Some other things I do to help me be my best are utilize planners to organize my day and write down hella to-do lists. I’ve also downloaded the app “Two Dots” to help my brain relax.
