Today we’d like to introduce you to DeLisa Rose.
Delisa “Dee” Rose was born and raised in Oakland, California and relocated to TX after graduating from UC Berkeley where she studied City Planning: community and economic development. In 2003, she transitioned further into real estate with the intent to develop residential communities and to create economic growth and financial wealth for people by educating them on the value of home ownership and real estate investments.
Dee has built an extremely successful career in real estate over the past 15+ years. Having worked in multiple aspects of real estate, Dee Rose is knowledgeable and experienced in the lending, title, new construction, foreclosures, short sales, probate estates, divorce sells, investments, multi-family, commercial real estate, land developments and she is certified in luxury home sells. Delisa is also a certified instructor by the State of Texas Real Estate Commission
Delisa Rose is the Broker that other Realtors and industry professionals use. She is recognized as the Top 500 in TX, is a Hall of Fame inductee and is currently ranked in the Top 1% in the industry.
DeLisa’s success in real estate is due to her commitment to people and her superior skill sets that deliver results. Delisa Rose is a servant leader; a philanthropist, community advocate, educator, mother, and wife. Dee enjoys making a positive impact in the lives of others and volunteers on various boards and for numerous charitable organizations including Meals On Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Volunteers of North Texas, St. Jude’s and many others. Delisa and her husband Tony founded a foster and adoption agency in order to find genuine homes for neglected and abused children. And most recently, in 2016, Delisa Rose’s 501c3 was approved by the city of Dallas as an affordable housing developer.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
DeLisa was born and raised in the impoverished and highly dangerous city of Oakland, CA. As a child, her teenage parent struggled with drug addictions and other abuse and Delisa found herself homeless and bouncing from the homes of various friends and family members, and accepting responsibility for raising herself, her siblings and her own daughter J’Lynn who she gave birth to when she was only 19 years old.
Fortunately, Delisa excelled in academics and believed education was the way out of the hood and she set her mind on becoming a 1st generation college graduate. It took many many years, but in 2001, DeLisa walked the graduation stage carrying her daughter.
One would think that life could only get easier, but life itself is a challenge and moving from California to Texas was a shock that is still felt today. Being a successful, young black woman has not been an easy journey, but I’ve learned to embrace the challenges as the great experiences that they are.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
DeLisa “Dee” Rose is a true real estate leader and one of the best in the industry. She is her clients’ biggest advocate and value when it comes to getting buyers, sellers, and investors what they need and want. Unlike the average Realtor, I use real estate to create social and economic change in America, especially low to moderate communities. I believe that everyone can own real estate, regardless of their profession. And by owning real estate people benefit financially, emotionally, physically and mentally. Property owners increase their wealth, gain a sense of self-achievement, have more pride and involvement in the community and sustainability. I believe we don’t have a black and white problem, we have a green one. If people were financially secure they may live with a better and happier quality of life.
I am a servant leader and really involved in philanthropy and community service. I have a 501c3 that builds homes for low-income families. I participated in raising 3 million dollars worth of items for disaster relief victims and in 2019, I was selected as one of the most inspiring Realtors by the National Association of Realtors. In 2018, I donated $20,000 to Minnie’s Food Pantry at a fundraiser hosted by Oprah. I was also selected as the Community Partner of the Year.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
There are so many books that I enjoy. My favorites are the Bible, Chicken Soup for the Soul Series with Lisa Nichols, Think and Grow Rich, In the Meantime, and my own book which should be released this summer.
