Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Stabile.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kate. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After completing cosmetology school in 2004 from The Salon Professional Academy, I began my apprenticeship with a passionate, dry hair sculptor, and educator, Alexander Antonio. After my apprenticeship, I furthered my education and experience at L’Oréal salon called, HeadRush ‘The Salon.’ This was where things really started to come together and give me a solid base which I called home for the next ten years. After years of continuing education and hard work, I was asked to join the artist education team for which I embarked on which opened many doors for me.
After my experience with L’Oréal, I decided to start my own business in 2015. This has been an exciting and challenging period of continued professional growth and experience both creatively and from a business standpoint. I am proud to say that I have a recurring client base that puts me almost at full capacity and am considering ways to expand my capacity and continue to grow my ‘brand.’
Training Experience:
Vidal Sassoon Academy – Miami 2016
NINE ZERO ONE Academy – Los Angeles 2017
Schema Academy – Dallas 2017
Tracy Cunningham- 2017
L’Oréal Professional Balayage certification series with – New York 2017
Mastering Balayage with Nancy Braun – NYC- 2017
Shadow program for Danial Mason Jones at Muse Salon and Spa in Atlanta, GA. 2018
I am continually looking for opportunities to further my experience through education.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are ups and downs with this career. I’ve learned self-care is so important – Burn out is a real thing.
Also, continuing to learn by taking a class. This truly feeds my soul and keeps me passionate about my career.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with @kate_does_balayage – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a color specialist and really known for Balayage.
I’m definitely most proud of my certification for Balayage through L’Oréal. It’s a total of 4 classes through the academy.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
Definitely, being a stylist because you can relate to so many clients that are women. Staying on top of current trends is power.
