Life and Work with Kathy Fielder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Fielder.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I wear so many hats ~ Wife, Mother, Lifestyle & Design Expert, Blogger, Influencer, TV Host, Entrepreneur, Manufacturer, Licensed Designer, Philanthropist, Equestrian, and proud Texan. you can see more on my website.

At the age of 22, I started my first company, a design firm, Studio Interiors by Kathy Fielder, which really served as the launch pad for my career today.

Vision, innovation, creative ideas, persistence, and meticulous work ethic have helped to propel me as a leader in the competitive lifestyle, fashion, and design fields.

Fashion Group International nominated me as a Rising Star in 2017 in the category of Interior Design, a prestigious award determined by a body of Fashion Group International members, community leaders, and fashion enthusiasts throughout the Dallas community. I’m also receiving the award for Entrepreneur of the Year by the nationally recognized Women That Soar organization this fall. I currently serve as the 2018 Public Relations Chair on the prestigious Fashion Group International board.

I have a great amount of support that is so appreciated in the Dallas fashion, culture, and charity scene as well. I have expanded my presence in the fashion and design scene in Dallas by launching my lifestyle boutique KF Design | Life | Style by Kathy Fielder, located at 2000 Greenville Avenue in Dallas, which encompasses a wide variety of home, fashion, and lifestyle products, many of which are manufactured in my studio and warehouse based out of Dallas, TX, USA.

Isabella Collection by Kathy Fielder and IC Linen Co by Kathy Fielder are sold globally in prestigious retailers ~ http://www.isabellacollection.com, In particular, Isabella Collection by Kathy Fielder linen collections are always top-sellers at The Horchow Collection and Neiman Marcus, and the entire line is manufactured in Dallas at my Greenville Avenue location ~ https://kathyfielder.com/contact-kf-and-connect-with-us-here/.

Additionally, I appear on various shows as an expert with relevant content and engaging on-air style.

I also write as a correspondent for Estate Life Magazine, a monthly column focused on different galas and charity events around Dallas.

Although lifestyle and design have taken center stage in my life, my family is closest to my heart. I live in Dallas with her husband Jeromy, an executive VP and Regional Director for an insurance consulting firm. We have two amazing children, Isabella and Harrison, who are like my air:).

Additionally, I am a ribbon-winning equestrian. I passionately support several other charities and non-profits, including St. Jude, SPCA, Art for the Heart, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas, Orphan Outreach, Equest, The Women’s Garden of the Dallas Arboretum, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Esperanza (IEP), and The Ahadi Collective, which provides manufacturing work in her shop for refugee women.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is so much advice I could give. The greatest gift I could tell young people today, don’t quit. Stick to your vision. Know how very difficult the challenges you will face are going to be, decide to overcome them, realize that you are going to feel very alone sometimes, but stay true to where you want to be. Knowing that challenges will come and you can overcome them helps to take some of the sting and fear out of them, so you can be more prepared for them. Most importantly, be kind and love everyone around you. You are only as great as the people you surround yourself with, so be mindful that their vision and passions are in tune with who you are and more importantly, where you want to be.

Please tell us about Kathy Fielder Design | Life | Style.
I think my answer about myself will really answer most of these questions. Most proud of? I’ve worked so hard and done more than many are willing to do, embrace, or endure to get to where I am now, and I’m not even close to where I want to be.

I’m known as a kind, but passionate influencer and trendsetter. One of my mottos… you can be a fierce influencer and still be truly kind! 🙂

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
This is very similar to two questions before. I would give the same answer as before but would add, if I am speaking wholly to young women… surround yourself with women who are your friends, who you trust and admire, and be their best friend. Empowered women support each other, uplift each other, realize that they are stronger together while supporting each other and accomplish more together. I have dear girlfriends who have made my success more possible and MORE enjoyable. Don’t get caught up with people whose vision doesn’t match where you want to be.
