Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Melnicenco.
Kristina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I moved to the USA from a small country in East Europe in 2012. When you are an immigrant, you think you are never good enough! You do not know the system, and the culture was very different for me. We stayed in someone’s basement in North Dakota for a couple of years, until we could establish ourselves. Life was not easy but I was determined to face it, together with my husband Eugene who has always been my partner in everything I do.
Has it been a smooth road?
I was an established permanent makeup artist back home and I came to the US basically starting over in life and business. I had to finish the mandatory training and requirements, and at the same time make a living, and it was very difficult, but it did not dishearten me or discourage me from trying and working hard towards something I was so passionate about. There were also people along the way trying to discourage me from going into the permanent makeup industry, but I did not let that stop me either. I followed my passion for the beauty industry working as an assistant trainer in my day job, while at the same time attending school to get my license in the US. My husband Eugene made sure that I did not worry about paying our bills or my tuition and did not give up on my dreams. When life got tough, we became tougher.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with 5 STAR ACADEMY – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am a permanent makeup artist and trainer, and I am passionate about empowering women to elevate their business and replicate success to build six-figure companies. My mission is to make people feel beautiful and confident and I accomplish this by making quality above quantity my top priority, training other permanent makeup artists of all skill levels, and supporting them in their business growth. My training programs are widely known for being rigorous, hands-on and in-depth, and while it isn’t an easy process, I always make sure that my students are prepared to go to the next level in their business, whether they are just starting out or have worked in the industry for years.
My certifications include fundamental as well as advanced course completion in the states and abroad, and I have years of experience in permanent cosmetics. To date, I have trained thousands of students in the States and abroad.
I also speak at industry conferences around the world and teach my unique permanent makeup techniques that I developed, Foxy Brows, Foxy Liner & Aquarell Lip Technique.
We also have some new projects in the pipeline which would be launched by the beginning of 2020. We are also proud to be hosting one of the unique conferences of the permanent makeup industry called SPCC 2020. It will be a learning curve in the permanent makeup industry which would be a great opportunity to meet and connect with hundreds of fellow artists, practitioners, trainers, experts and emerging artists in their respective fields. It will also be a huge networking and marketing avenue to meet and learn the latest trends, techniques and products and also a common platform for sharing the stage with some of our highly talented Mentors and Idols of Permanent Makeup Field.
Who have you been inspired by?
When I was in seventh grade my grandmother noticed my interest in beauty and suggested me to work with a multi-level cosmetic company. I was so excited that I started planning and working on it from the very next day. My mom helped me with the initial set up and I started going door to door to sell the products. I worked so hard that I not only achieved my target within a month, I also exceeded my sales goal by four times. It made me financially independent at a very young age and taught me to think like a businesswoman. I paid for my own tuition, daily lunch, and all expenses. I even paid for my own prom dress, hair and makeup, and choose the best artist in the country. When I was ready for my prom, I looked like a totally different person and felt like a princess. It was at that moment that I realized the power of makeup. It lifts you up and makes you feel strong, beautiful and unstoppable. That was when I realized I wanted to be a makeup artist, change women’s lives and bring smiles to their faces. It also helped me realize how important it is for a woman to be financially independent
