Thanks for sharing your story with us Margot. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I absolutely love everything that has to do with food. It fascinates me. Ever since I can remember I overly enjoyed cooking and talking about it. How to pick ingredients, prepare a dish, tricks to make a recipe better and yes, I am that person who Googles the menu before I go to a restaurant. No shame here. I can go on and on about amazing meals I have had the privilege of eating & surprisingly enough I noticed that people seemed to listen. I would get texts from friends and family on recipe ideas or recommendations for places to eat in different cities. I soon realized I must share my passion for food with everyone around me. So, in 2016, I started my Instagram food blog & I haven’t looked back! I adore this foodie world & as Julia Child would say, “People who love to eat are always the best people”.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road in this foodie world has been so welcoming. Foodies love each other! It’s so funny how one can get so excited when we hear someone admit they are a fellow foodie. When it comes down to it, food brings people together and we (foodies) all encompass this strong desire for everyone to be able to know and experience our wonderful journeys.
Please tell us about Epicurean Journey.
I am a social media food influencer whose main goal is to make sure your palate is completely and utterly satisfied. I want everyone to experience the passion through my food journey and I am known for not letting people down when it comes to where to dine! I pride myself on posting quality photos and recommending places that I know will leave you wanting seconds. Well, maybe even thirds.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well-positioned for?
Now more than ever women’s voices are being heard. We are in a position of empowerment and we need to take this as an opportunity to help each other grow in the office and in our daily lives. Opportunities present themselves every day, we just need to have the confidence/courage to jump up and take it. I am seeing this now more than ever with women and it’s such a beautiful thing to bear witness to. Times really are changing and I could not be more thrilled.
