Life and Work with Tanesha Mitchell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanesha Mitchell.

Tanesha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been working in healthcare for the last 14 years. I started to get more involved in healthcare consultant back in 2017. That came about when I was laid off from my previous employer and it affected my own mental stability. I believe I was dealing with anxiety of some sort previously from losing a loved one close to me six months prior. I didn’t know how to explain the anxiety of feeling like I was a failure from this employer that I had just given my all to the last three years. I believe the way they handle the separation, they were only concerned with their well being and not concerned with the employees that were affected. I then started to put my wheels in motion to speak with others who dealt with lay-offs, grieve and mental disorders. Upon talking to others, I found out that I wasn’t alone others were dealing with much bigger things outside of just losing a job, but already dealing with mental issues and working full-time jobs, taking care of loved ones, having more than one child and just had lost a loved one. I started helping others around me to get a better understand of what really affects your mental stability and what can cause breakdowns. It dawns on me to take it seriously six months into my lay-off that I could possibly be a healthcare consultant. I was like I have been doing it for others for various positions in healthcare, why not create my own space where people can come to me and I could help them with their health and human services needs. I created T. Mitchell Consultant, LLC.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road for T, Mitchell Consultant. I think the biggest struggles for me were and are getting those contracts making people believe that I can take their company or help their team to the next level. Selling yourself is harder than I thought It would be, I know what it’s like to feel like no one believes in you but you. I get up every day and I surround myself around positive images, positive things, research, and research and research. I would like to tell young women don’t be afraid of the no’s the long nights, the days when you are not getting the likes if you are passionate about what you create, God will see you through he didn’t bring you this fair to fail.

Please tell us about T. Mitchell Consultant, LLC.
I would say T.Mitchell Consultant, LLC is a Healthcare consultant company Dedicate in guiding operational and financial improvements in shaping and leading healthcare businesses transforming physical and mental healthcare experiences.

I am most proud of as a brand that I am looking forward to helping to make a change to take the stigma away from mental healthcare, Putting the focus more on MENTAL health and not just our PHYSICAL health.

Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
I feel the biggest barriers are that in generally that people feel that a woman can’t lead like a man could and she is only born and bred to be a mother, wife and in the kitchen at home raising children making sure dinner is being prepared for her husband, In fact, the world would be lost without the guidance of a women’s leadership and her direction to help this world with her emotion content and help the human race find love in everything that we do

I am beyond proud of you friend! For those that don’t know, I met this wonderful young lady at the hair salon over 10 years ago. I remember I had just moved to Texas, and didn’t know one person. When I met Tanesha, she reminded me so much of myself and we have been great friends ever since. We both was laid off around the same time, and to be honest I only wanted to talk to her while I was going through. I tell you this, Tanesha has been nothing but a great friend to me. I always say, when God sends a friend; you better know how to treat them. Thank you for being such a great friend. Now to other clients that’s reading this article, I suggest you give Mrs. Tanesha Mitchell a chance. You won’t be disappointed.
