Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Hogan.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a young girl, I would follow my aunt around the salon in admiration, I watched how she interacted with her clients and how concerned she was with the health of their hair. I watched her build a clientele and a business and I have always intended to follow in her footsteps. From her, I have learned that educating myself on different hair techniques and determination can take you a very long way, it was when I was a child that she taught me the importance of organic products (which she made). It is a lesson that I apply to my daily business. Along the way, I have faced many obstacles but refused to let any of it determine my outcome. I studied at Ogle Hair, Skin & Nails in Arlington, Texas in the night program.
During my studies, I worked full time for the Dallas County Court System. My studies were prolonged due to me being diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Mycosis Fungoides. My days would start early going to radiation treatments, work and then school. Even though most times, I would find myself sick from treatment or tired from work I refused to let that stop me from pursuing my dream to become a professional stylist. I was blessed to have a great support system from my co-workers, nurses and cos teachers. To this day, I credit my love for hair in helping me get through such a difficult time. As I completed school, I found that I was totally in love with Natural Hair. Even to this day, I gain great satisfaction from studying our beautiful coils and curls and am amazed at the beauty of a proper Silk Press, which happens to be my specialty. I have spent countless hours researching different hair types and treatments so that I can provide my clients with consistent results. I have a heart for community service and I am working on several different ventures at this time. I have learned there is no task too great that I can’t tackle, GOD has given me the strength and confidence to face anything.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Advice for young women:
Speak success over yourself, for you are capable of any and everything you desire, pat yourself on the back because each step you take is a personal victory and never be afraid to ask for help.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Crowned By Tasha – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have found a passion for naturally textured hair and have created a recipe for a consistently beautiful silk press. It is a great joy to take beautiful coils and turn them into silk. What sets me apart is my willingness to continuously educate myself on products and techniques. Above all else, the integrity of your hair ranks very high in my book, so I pride myself in taking great care of it.
