Today we’d like to introduce you to T’Edra Jackson.
T’Edra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Being the grand-daughter of the late Emmett Lee King, my grandfather taught my sister and me the importance of continuously educating yourself. There was a moment where I forgot all those lessons and lost my way. At that moment, I experienced brokenness, heartache, depression, and low self-esteem.
I started using the hashtag #tzjselfmotivationmoment (tzj- T’Edra Zachelle Jackson)to find ways and words that will encourage me in those times of darkness. I felt the need to share my pain in hopes to inspire others through uplifting social media post. One day, it hit me that #tzjselfmotivationmoment should not just be for me, but it should be for all.
KingssKid is to remind us that we are all kids of the King, hence the meaning of the first “S,” the second “S” is to honor my grandfather and the lessons he taught me.
KingssKid is to remind us that God created, covered, continuously carries and crowns us in victory and all circumstances.
We are ALL kids of the King, we are the KingssKid.
This is only the beginning – God is just getting started.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been easy in any way shape or form but it has been worth it. I struggled with finding ways to start. I did not know where to start or even how. I just knew I needed to start. After spending time researching, I discovered that blogging would be the avenue that I could consistently provide jewels of knowledge and wisdom for personal, professional and mentor-mentee development that would crown others.
Once I started Kingsskid, I struggled with what to share, I wanted to share the things that were convenient for me to share, however, when God position you for purpose there’s a deeper level of transparency and authenticity that is required. I also realized that in order for me to live the life of a Kingsskid, I must forgive and understand that it’s not what people did to you but it is what they did for you.
Advice to women who are starting their journey is to understand the market you are entering, be present in your now of starting. With social media, we can compare our journey to others who are more advanced not realizing that they had to start at some point too. Seek to have people around you to support you on your journey, you cannot do it alone-intentionally collaborate.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I educate individuals on how God creates, covers, carries and crowns them in personal, professional and mentor-mentee development. I do that through blogging, public speaking and a Majestic Daughters Empowerment Teen Mentoring Program.
I am most proud of the courage to start something that is bigger than me. I am proud of the lives that I impact daily, I am proud of saying yes to being in alignment with my God-given assignment.
What sets me apart with Kingsskid is my ability to assist others in understanding that there are jewels of knowledge and wisdom that this life presents to us daily. Each jewel of knowledge and wisdom produces a crowning moment.
Who have you been inspired by?
My family inspire me and have always inspired to reach for the stars.
My mentors inspire me not to settle, they push me to go forward with confidence. As they have gone before me they are able to crown me with jewels of knowledge and wisdom that they have gained along the way, which in turn helps me to crown others
My sister circle is my hype crew, my accountability crew, and my #friendshipgoals crew. We can collaborate without the need to compete, we discover ways to support and enhance one another. We live life on purpose with purpose.
