Today we’d like to introduce you to Alberto Castaneda.
Hi Alberto, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
It’s funny how things always come back around and that goes with everything. I use to be lost in this world I had a huge drinking problem and one night I got my wakeup call by getting arrested while drunk driving. That night made me change my life around 180degrees completely. I started playing football again and somehow made way to a semi-pro team then to a professional arena team now getting scouted buy the CFL and other big leagues. I still think if I never got in trouble I would have still been where I was and that’s nowhere. I now have a second chance to live my high school dream and I’m not letting it go again. I told myself when the pandemic started that I would start kicking again no were to go no one to see just me and a ball and an empty field 2 years later I’m being represented by a sports agency and competing at a professional level without a college football experience. Work hard play hard and always surround yourself with good people.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Teams not wanting to take a chance on you because you don’t have college experience has been the biggest struggle but I thank Theo Hall owner of the Wenatchee SkyHawks of the AWFC for taking a chance on me and signing me to my first pro team.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Before football and covid and all that I was in the music industry and made a good name for myself I was on tour and got to perform in 4 different countries. My body transformation in the gym along with my football goals is all just a big if they Can why can’t I moment and it’s tru if they Can why can’t you anything is possible
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If you really wanna do it, do it, and don’t look back. There will be people who will doubt and go out of their way to make sure you don’t succeed but if you put in the work and long hours none of that will matter because your talent and passion will outshine everything
