Life & Work with Alexis Adegoke

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Adegoke.

Alexis Adegoke

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
33-year-old mom of three and full-time content creator based in Dallas, TX. Her journey into content creation began during the global pandemic when she, along with her family, found themselves navigating parenthood as first-time parents to an 8-month-old amidst the epicenter of the crisis.

Turning to social media as a means of connection and coping, she started sharing her motherhood journey online, resonating deeply with other mothers facing similar challenges during the pandemic. What started as a way to connect soon blossomed into a full-fledged career spanning over 4.5 years, with opportunities pouring in from various family, beauty, fashion, home lifestyle, and baby brands.

Signed with the creator family agency Famfluence, Alexis has collaborated with an array of esteemed brands, leveraging her unique voice and experiences to create compelling content that resonates with her audience.

Prior to her flourishing career as a content creator, Alexis, who has a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising and Retail from the University of North Texas, delved into the world of modeling and fashion. She first got her start as an intern of her senior year of college with Marie Claire magazine- and was intern to former Creative Director Nina Garcia. After graduating, she moved to New York, completely relocated there, and started working. With a background that includes roles as a stylist, showroom assistant, and sample coordinator for renowned brands such as Nautica, Ralph Lauren, Caleres, Neiman Marcus, and Rainbow, she’s no stranger to the fashion scene. She even had the privilege of working alongside celebrity stylists and building her own clientele, including appearances on CNN and throughout New York City.

Adding to her list of accomplishments, Alexis showcased her poise and grace by competing in the Miss Universe organization pageant Miss New York USA in 2017, where she impressively placed in the top 5 as third runner-up. She was then signed on after placing to modeling agency MMG, which would land her multiple opportunities, such as modeling with Sol De Janeiro, Bare Minerals, and more. Little did she know, a few months later, she would receive the joyful news of expecting her firstborn. She continued modeling during pregnancy and after with Expecting Models up until the global pandemic.

Balancing her passion for content creation with her entrepreneurial spirit, Alexis envisions a future filled with impactful business ventures and product development, all while using her platform to inspire and empower others. Her children and family are also currently signed to Kim Dawson’s modeling agency.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Alexis shares a beautiful love story with her college sweetheart, whom she met at the University of North Texas as freshmen in 2008. Together, they form the foundation of a loving family, supporting each other through life’s adventures.

With her boundless creativity, resilience, and passion for making a difference, Alexis continues to inspire mothers around the world, proving that through connection and perseverance, anything is possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely even a huge learning curve and has been filled with many bumps along the way! Being your own boss and working on a job-to-job basis can come with a lot of stress, but it’s been so fulfilling to be able to work compelling remote and be with my family.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
Yes, 100% a risk taker!! I moved to New York with my now husband and then-boyfriend, and we literally moved there with just our suitcases. We sold all of furniture in our apartment in Denton, Texas. We got rid of our cars, and we moved to New York full throttle trying to pursue our careers, and it worked out beautifully for us! If you moved to New York, you have to have some type of drive and passion and wrist, taker energy, and I’m definitely always taking risks. Took countless risks on everything I did, competing for Miss New York USA without ever having any prior pageant history any job opportunity apply to with a massive risk that was taken going up against so many people who had extensive industry, fashion background, and even my job that I took a faith for as a full-time con creator was a bit scary because it was unstable at first, but eventually worked out!!!
