Hi Allison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
For the longest my hair was not growing. I tried everything possible. I’ve always been a big advocate for good hair products. I realized it was getting to a point where they was getting too expensive. I remember I couldn’t sleep one night I was up until 3 am trying to figure out what I can do for me and my girls’ hair. I decided to make some hair growth oil to see how it would work out. I started using it on my hair and my girl’s hair and started noticing a big difference. I was amazed with the results I was seeing. We started doing length checks each month to see how much how hair was growing. I was excited and nervous at the same time. Could I have made an oil for hair growth. For a year we kept up with the progress. One day I decided it was time to let the people know what I’ve made. First Day of sales I made $700 in 4 hours.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster, hands up in the air, screaming to the top of my lungs and saying let’s ride again. When the fun died down, I realized I needed to have more than one product. People was encouraging me for something new to go with the oil. I decide to make a spray for regrowth. When I launched the spray, it was just as hot as my signature growth oil call BLOOMbyAllison. Another one of my struggles was learning how to work my business on social media. I had done a couple of events to vend but had a hard time with websites and learning how to promote my content.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
This is my 8th year of being a Teacher and I love what I do. I teacher Inclusion for Biology and Chemistry for 9th and 10th grade. I love working with older students. Teaching has not always been my passion but once I got into it, I loved it. You can make a big impact on kids’ lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I love being around my girls. They are 14 and 15. We are very much the same. We love basketball and working toward goals that everyone has. Coaching my girls in basketball and through life is what makes me happy
