Life & Work with Aprille White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aprille White.

Hi Aprille, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing balloon arches and decor as a creative outlet and a way to celebrate my loved ones. I had been doing it for several years starting in 2015 in my relationship and for friends and family and decided I would like to start doing it for people in and out of town possibly. I had no social media any more and decided to get into Instagram and Tik Tok as a way to do research on my craft more and get advertisement. I made a custom balloon menu on canva one day when I decided to open my business and posted it on Tik Tok which gained a lot of traction which I will forever be grateful for

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth ride. You unfortunately don’t always know what you’re in for until you actually work with a client. I am grateful for them all over the last year but each event does give some insight into what you will and won’t do for future jobs

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I like to say I’m a creative with a 9 to 5 that finances it. I didn’t want to get into the balloon industry and charge the “standard”. I wanted to be able to be affordable for people that are looking to elevate their events without going into debt doing so as sometimes it’s not always a very happy celebration and I’m honored to be apart of any so I don’t like to over charge people. I work at Golden 1 credit union in the back office as head of impounds. Meaning once a car is towed or seized I step in to get it released or negotiate with tow companies and speak with law enforcement and border patrols. I feel like my other job is important as well because I can be the difference of a bad becoming even worse

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me by reaching out through email or social media. I’ve collaborated with 24 hour fitness in my area when they’ve had community events. I’ve worked with a vegan cafe to promote their new or seasonal menu items. Can support by telling your friends family coworkers who love to celebrate and are looking to bring a fun installation into their events
