Life & Work with Ashley Liddie of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Liddie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Believe it or not I actually started my brand as a kid entrepreneur at the age of 9 years. I was a homeschooled student. My mom catered our homeschooling around the things (my sister and I) loved to do and for me that was fashion! I began my brand, making small items, drawing outfits (poorly I might add), and learning how to use my sewing machine with the help of a sewing circle at my church. My dad would also encourage me by saying “we all have to start somewhere.” So from there I started making purses. Each purse I sell is currently only made by me. I create, sew, design my website, business cards, logo, etc. One step at a time I want to curate a positive experience for my customers and always keeping God’s Plan at the forefront of my life! In my life, family is everything. Without them, and those who have supported me, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, it can be difficult to remain encouraged and motivated when trying to grow a business, especially your own. As a Christian my main focus has always been keeping Jesus at the forefront of everything I do, including my business. I take no credit for any form of success.

As most people know being your only employee is also a challenge, because you truly do everything, designing product, sewing the purses, cultivating packaging, designing my website, creating video content, working a job, shipping out orders, etc. There are multiple areas where multitasking is necessary as a small business owner.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
If you know anything about us, I come from a very creative family! We love to create and have fun, and work as hard as we can with every opportunity in life. My inspiration behind my brand was that everything I make comes from me — hence the name Dé Ashléy meaning Of Ashley. My personality is classy, yet fun, chic, and bold, and I love to incorporate a bit of myself into everything I do. Through each purse, I get to see my creativity come to life. It is exciting to see my ideas become tangible products by using different colors and textures. I see purses all the time and imagine what I would add or take away to make them better! I also love a great customer experience which drives me to grow my business model to create awesome customer experiences! “While developing a brand of luxury handbags, I also wanted to establish a company that would provide a great experience for my clients”. -Dé Ashléy

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love our city because there are so many opportunities to offer something unique in our area. There are multiple areas for businesses and young entrepreneurs to show their talents and encourage others pursue their passions.

An area where we can show improvement is to create more opportunities for business owners and creatives to learn from large companies, enterprises, HR departments, VP’s, etc. Creating access to broader information, travel opportunities, and local learning.
