Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Savala.
Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Ashley Savala. I am a wife, mom of 2 boys and an entrepreneur. It was 6 years ago and I had just had my first child. I was a stay-at-home mom just trying to find ways to help bring some income into our home. I have always had a creative side and remember my mom telling me to use my talents. I started painting canvas shoes. I posted them online and got a few orders. I moved on to custom apparel and it took off. That’s when Maverick’s Shoppe was born. I have since expanded into making personalized gifts, souvenirs, and home decor. Maverick’s Shoppe has grown over the last 6 years. I would definitely not be where we are today if I didn’t have the constant support of my husband, my family and close friends. One thing is for sure, I don’t plan on stopping!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not! As much as I wish it were, there are so many obstacles. Juggling being a wife, mom of 2 boys and a businesswoman is no easy task. My biggest challenge is time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Maverick’s Shoppe offers lots of different customized products. I specialize in custom apparel, epoxy cups, custom doormats, and woodwork. My customers know me for my quick turnaround, quality of work, and dedication to my craft. I am most proud of being able to see my efforts and hard work pay off. Not only have I made the extra income that I set out to do, but I have been able to teach my sons to follow their dreams. My dedication to always challenge myself to learn and to improve my skills sets me apart from others.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
As a small business owner, I have learned that I need to treat my business with the same seriousness as I expect others to. I have to keep pushing to do and be better. It has definitely been a journey and I am so thankful to be able to do what I love while being able to watch both my boys grow up.
