Today we’d like to introduce you to Betzabe Rivera Ugalde.
Betzabe, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my career in tax preparation in 2010. Alongside this work, I partnered with an attorney assisting with contract sign-ups. After realizing that I was generating significant revenue for the firm I worked with, I made the decision to open my own tax office. I successfully operated the office full-time for two years, during which I expanded services to include insurance processing, Public Notary and title paperwork.
Over time, maintaining the office became increasingly challenging as tax volume declined. I transitioned into working with a chiropractor and assisting a neurologist by conducting EEGs. While valuable experience, this work was seasonal and not consistent year-round.
Seeking stability and growth, I entered the beauty and wellness industry, beginning with body cavitation therapy. From there, I expanded my services to include teeth whitening, cupping therapy, vacuum therapy, lash extensions, lash lifts, brow lamination, liposhots, facials, microneedling, and microdermabrasion. I initially operated from home before securing a small location in Grand Prairie.
With the support of my husband, I took the step to open my own business location. I currently collaborate with two additional professionals who provide massage therapy, as well as makeup and hair services for special events. Although the business has experienced both challenges and growth, I remain grateful for the progress made.
I will continue offering tax services seasonally while expanding my beauty and wellness business. With perseverance, dedication, and the grace of God, I am confident that continued growth and success lie ahead.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Tax wise that there is a tax office in every corner and online as the online apps develop over the years too. Beauty part there is ups and downs sometimes I have 6 clients a week sometimes 1 but I’m holding on to this because I enjoy it and is something I want to do for a long time.
