Life & Work with Brian Egan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Egan.

Hi Brian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in a smaller town of Prattville, Alabama were football runs deep in tradition. We were an elite program within the state and the head coach Bill Clark was in search of a new kicker. Me being a soccer player he sought me out, I met with Coach Clark in the last few weeks of freshman year where he offered to bring a kicking coach Mike McCabe who was known as the best kicking coach in the country to Prattville to run a camp. In return, I would come out to the first week of summer practices. Long story short he ended up hiring the kicking coach Mike McCabe to the staff at my high school and that is where my kicking journey started as a sophomore in high school. We won 3 state titles over the next 3 years and were nationally ranked in the top 10. I was named a parade All American and MVP of the state title game, which put me in a position to get recruited by many universities. I played my college ball at Mississippi State and after graduation, I wanted to stay in the game and help educate and develop younger kickers achieve their goals. I moved to Texas in 2016 and started 2 divisions of One On One Kicking where we train many athletes at all levels nationally across the state. Many of the athletes we train have been successful in moving on into the college ranks and some even at the professional level.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Hasn’t been the smoothest road, I didn’t know one person in Texas when I decided to move out and open up training locations. So, it took a few months of networking to start getting clients to attend the training sessions.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in the development of kickers, nothing makes me more proud than helping younger kickers develop and reach their goals on and off the field. What separates us from the rest is we are strictly focused on developing the athletes with proper form and technique to build muscle memory which ultimately will make them consistent with their performance. We also require our guys to maintain certain standards off the field to be a part of our program, we want these athletes prepared with the proper expectations by the time they graduate high school and ready to take on the next steps.

I am also a Realtor under the Monument Brokerage who is the official real estate partner of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas rangers.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the diversity of Dallas, it’s a very unique city with a lot of great food and entertainment options. I’m a huge sports fan so it helps we have a lot of professional teams. The thing I like the least would be the traffic, although it’s not always bad.
