Life & Work with Brit Daniels

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brit Daniels.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My grandfather was a huge real estate rental investor growing up, so I was constantly hearing him talk business (People have always called me his “mini-me” in so many ways). That was really my initial experience with the real estate industry. I went on to college and studied radio, television and film at the University of North Texas so that I could hopefully work in the music industry while pursuing my own musical endeavors (I’m also a singer/songwriter). After completing classes, I moved to Nashville to do an internship at BBR Music Group (Jason Andean, Dustin Lynch, etc.) and Hill Entertainment Group (Rodney Atkins, Jana Kramer).

From there, I graduated college, and I worked in the music and radio industries while pursuing my own music career. Not too long after really pushing both, I realized that I really needed to separate my work life and my music career life as to not put all of my eggs in one industry basket and as to not over-exhaust/overwhelm myself with one thing all the time.  However, I also needed the flexibility to be able to write music during the day – in Nashville, you have to or no one will really take your seriously. So, I started exploring the idea of getting into real estate, decided to take the plunge, found a brokerage that I loved and really started to flourish in the real estate industry. I fell in love with real estate and helping people and started filling more of my time with that. For many reasons, I came to the realization that Nashville wasn’t going to be the place that I was going to be able to build the future I wanted, so I decided to pick up and move back to Dallas! I have been thriving more in all aspects of my life, and I am truly loving being back home in Texas, being close to family and friends, and doing what I love! I’m also still doing music, but focusing more of writing/recording for Television and film now!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I honestly am one of those people that choose to believe that what is meant to be will be. Even when struggles happen, which they always will, I choose to see those as something that’s going to make me better/stronger on the other side once I’m through it, or something that is allowing me to see that a shift is needed. The road to anything is never always smooth, but it really is all how you look at it. I think coming to the realization that I wasn’t being my best self or reaching my full potential in Nashville was a big but great speed bump that leads me to a place that was better for me (back home in Dallas!). Was it fun in the moment? No. When I had to rebuild my career from scratch here, it was not fun at all. However, now that I’m on the other side of it, I wouldn’t change it for anything because I feel like it has made me a better person, has helped me truly realize what I want out of life, it’s definitely made me a better realtor, and I feel as though having experienced being a licensed agent in two very different markets makes me more knowledgeable and able to see things from a different perspective as well!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a real estate expert when it comes to buying, selling, renting, leasing, investing and building! I also used to be the behind-the-scenes realtor for the investor for the “Flip or Flop Nashville” TV show on HGTV! I’d help him purchase the homes, design them, and then sell them (and in between, we’d tell the show personalities what they were allowed to “do” to the home for the show). I love helping people find their perfect home for their next chapter in life and helping people sell their home so they can move onto their next chapter in life – there’s something special about it!

When you get to that closing table, everyone looks so nervous while they’re looking at all of the paperwork, and then once they’re done signing, they light up like you’ve never seen. It genuinely brings me so much joy. I feel like what sets me apart from others is my personality. I always am incredibly real and transparent with people, and I truly want to make sure my clients are always educated and informed. I genuinely want my clients to feel comfortable with me and like they can talk with me about anything. I also make the process fun, though! There’s so much stress that can go into buying or selling a home, so I hold a high responsibility in calming my clients and making sure they enjoy the process as much as possible. I love my clients genuinely, and we always end up being friends and building a relationship after. It’s not just a transaction with me; it’s an actual friendship!

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Honestly, I feel like I’m an open book. I don’t really hide anything from people. I do really tend to keep my music brand and my real estate brand somewhat separate, but my clients eventually find out that I’m a singer/songwriter, and they’re always surprised and intrigued by that!
