Today we’re excited to be connecting with Britty J again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Britty, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hey, my name is Britty J I’m a professional hairstylist/Braider in the Dallas area. I’m originally from Kansas City Missouri and have been here in Dallas now for 6 years. Britty J is not just the name I go by it’s my brand and I’m proud of everything that I’ve been able to accomplish thus far. I have had my highs & my lows but I definitely enjoyed the ride and enjoyed every lesson along the way. I’ve done hair shows, celebrities, volunteer work, classes, and so much more.
Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
So since my first interview, I have had to start over because of an injury where I couldn’t walk so that was a challenge. But it has picked back up slowly which has actually benefited me and allowed access of opened up doors to expand my brand. So now I’m looking forward to the future of rebranding, rebuilding, and expanding Britty J.
We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
When I look back the top three things I expect to be proud of is all my accomplishments despite the many storms, naysayers, failed attempts, and nonbelievers! I remain believing in my vision and in my dreams and never stopped chasing them. The second would be my children they rode with me through it all and they also have made me proud as a single mom accomplishing things which ultimately makes me feel like everything was worth it. And lastly I’d be proud of giving every little girl like me hope, if I know I inspired at least one up and coming young black female doing hair from a rough childhood/neighborhood I will definitely be proud!!
