Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlton Little. Them and their team share their story with us below:
C Mayja born on November 14, 1981, and raised in Memphis, TN as Carlton Little, is a jack of all trades. He has taken his work ethic from being a football player and professional MMA fighter and fallen back in love with his music roots. He grew up playing and singing in church. He wears many a hat. He produces his own tracks, writes his own songs, and sings all of his lead and background vocals. His debut album Love Wars Vol 1, was his introduction to the world musically. He is also an actor who made his debut in Sacred Hart, a movie produced by Elrico Tunstall and executive produced by legendary Hall of Fame Boxer Roy Jones, Jr. C Mayja brings sensual, timeless R&B vocals with his own genre defiant sounds, and he created his own signature sound that will stand out from traditional R&B music. He ultimately hopes to make A name for himself as a producer for other artists and do collabs and create great music all the same while juggling the task of being an actor. “I want to be the true definition of an entertainer. Someone who can do it all!”
I just want to inspire others who may feel like opportunities only come along in our youth. Opportunity is always close. We have to be ready for them when they do!
My life was spared not once but twice. After those incidents, I knew I had to hold myself account and find my passion in music again, and put it to work!!! It’s the universal language.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an independent artist, I don’t have a label with a budget behind me. I have to do everything for myself. I’m self-sufficient, so I make it work. I own my own business, so I’m afforded more time for music and am able to invest in it. It’s been a learning experience for sure. Having to do all my own pr and promotion, but this is something I’m passionate about, and I don’t want to half do it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a musician and singer. I produce my own music as well as music for others. I write and sing my songs; I’m proud to know that I do what usually is a 5–6-person job myself. I am my own writer, producer, engineer, singer, and my work sounds professional. Music is just a gift that came from divinity. It’s in my DNA. I just got into acting and will be making my debut in a film producer by Elrico Tunstal, and executive producer by hall of fame Boxer Roy Jones Jr. called Sacred Hart. It’s a film about a family
Who owned a hospital and has a lot of drama and plot twists! It will be on one of the streaming networks. I can’t let that out the bag yet!
I believe I stand out because I truly believe I can do anything I believe I can and work for. Nothing is impossible. Challenges bring out the best me, and I aim to be better today than I was yesterday, whereas most people want it easy!
What matters most to you? Why?
Being able to inspire others. I try to live a life that inspired people to take action. Whether it’s being a better father, son, better athlete, better actor, and so forth. I just want to be able to say people believed that if I could do it, so could they, and they did it!
It’s more satisfying seeing others thrive than my own success, so I want to use my stage no matter how big or small, and touch as many lives as I can in a positive light
