Life & Work with Christian Avanti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Avanti.

Hi Christian, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My first business started in 2011 with the opening The Kings Club barbershop since then I’ve opened 2 more barbershops Atelier Barber Company on Cedar Springs and The Barbershop by Atelier in Playa del Carmen Mexico. I’ve been cutting hair for 16 years and always have had the dream of having my own club, while traveling the world I’ve experienced so many different elements and cultures that their nightlife has to offer. My mind would always wonder what if I took the best from each experience and brought it to Dallas. Rewind to a year and a half ago While cutting one of my client’s hair “now business partner” I spoke about my vision to him and I related that I wanted a club on the same st as Atelier I loved the vibe “the strip” had but I wanted to offer something different something that felt like Vegas, LA or New York at the time I was just voicing my dream. His response was let me know when you find a location and I’ll invest I took a step back and processed what just happened my dream was closer than I thought. We never talked about it again but a year later an opportunity came available one business away from the barbershop I brought up idea again to my client and he said let’s do it. And the idea of Lava Lounge was born we planned on opening within 2 months but with all the price surges and shortages in materials due to COVID it took us 6 months but it was worth the wait. Our grand opening night was a hit every vip table sold and there was a line down the block. The vision became a reality, I love seeing the way music radiates threw someone and brings happiness…

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
COVID was the main obstacle material was out of stock and the places that had what we needed had it for 2 or 3 times the price,

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m most known for being a barber in Dallas one of the “og’s” people look up to the way I do business. But now I’m slowly stepping away from that and focusing on the club and how to conquer that new venture

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important thing I’ve learned along the way is never burn a bridge you will never know when u need help or a favor, and actions speak louder than words. Consistency is key
